DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Anonymous by comparing test results with other carriers of her ancestors' mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Anonymous:

Hi Jacqueline, please be careful when working on Pre-1700 profiles. You attached Thomasine Unknown as the wife of John Ellis jr. She is attached as his mother and the wife of his father John Ellis Sr. Do you have a source that shows that she was his wife rather than his mother? Thanks, Laura

Hi Jacqueline,

I just wanted to check in with you since I sent you another private message on 7 Dec about your request to take the Profile Improvement Project's PIP Voyage. I am following up as I haven't heard from you. Did you receive my message?

I hope that you had a lovely Christmas 🎄 and wishing you a fantastic 2022!

Hi Debi, how do I get started with the profile improvement project. Please send me a link with the project guide and information so I can get started.

Hi Jacqueline,

I'm going to have Pam send you a private message that has the information on how to get started. It will have the subject line "Welcome to the PIP Voyage." If you don't see it within the hour, please check your spam email folder. When you get the email, read through, follow the instructions, and Pam will get you set up.

Hi & Welcome to WikiTree!

Just a reminder that you should check for existing profiles before creating a profile (such as Royall-410), read through a profile's text and comments before making major changes (such as attaching parents to Susannah Unknown-569155), and use reliable sources when creating a pre-1700 profile: FamilySearch trees are not considered reliable, although they sometimes have links to reliable sources. The FS entry cited for Mary Harris-49378 - https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/vitals/GHPR-HVX - has no sources (and "Harris" is incorrect - the maiden name for Joseph Royall's wife Mary is not known).

Hi R,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).

Hi Anonymous,

This is a courtesy e-mail to see how things are going. Are you enjoying WikiTree so far?

Have the tips in the New Member How-Tos been helpful? Most of us still have some questions after reviewing them, so don't hesitate to let me know.

If you didn't intend for your given name to show as Anonymous, put your name in both the First Name at Birth and Preferred First Name. If you did want to be Anonymous, that's OK too! You can also put a nickname in Preferred First Name like I have done with mine to show Debi.

I'm here to help with issues and questions about how WikiTree works. You can reply to this comment or send me a private message.

PS Did you add some Tags? They control the activity which is included in the weekly emails from WikiTree. To get the best results, add separate tags for each surname and spelling variation of interest. You can have up to 20 total and can delete some if you are receiving irrelevant information.

Hi Jacqueline

I see that you have uploaded a GEDCOM. The GEDCOM will not automatically populate your tree, it generates a GEDCOMpare report. The GEDCOMpare process guide has tips on how to use the data in your file most efficiently.
