Jane was born c1633, perhaps in Scotland, or perhaps in St. Peter's Parish, New Kent County, Colony of Virginia, the youngest of eight known children and three daughters of Patrick Crawford and Jane (____).
At an unknown date and place, she married David Crawford and bore him a number of children:
Jane died of unknown causes in St Peters Parish, New Kent County, Virginia, in 1710, when she was in her late seventies.[1]
Jane's last name at birth may have been Douglas.

Jane Ann is the 2nd cousin 6 times removed of Sam Houston. Born in Virginia, Houston was an American general and statesman who played an important role in the Texas Revolution. He also served as the sixth governor of Tennessee and the seventh governor of Texas, the only American to be elected governor of two different states in the United States. Houston, Texas is named in his honor.
