My primary reason for joining wikitree is to share from my nearly forty years of research on the Markham surname. My own Markham family centers on John Markham (1710-1770) who immigrated from Ireland to America about 1735, and eventually settled in Chesterfield county Virginia. In trying to identify my Markham ancestors, I have gathered a significant amount of information on the surname - particularly in 17th and 18th century England and Ireland. I am delighted to collaborate and share.

I do maintain a website - Markham of Chesterfield.

Thanks Pam for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz

Because Pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects coordinating them is essential. Please ensure location data matches date of profile and avoid abbreviations. Citations & links for sources enable verification of data.

The Irish Roots Project would be of interest. Adding the tag Irish_Roots will connect you

Explore Pre-1700 Projects list to find one that fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or topic. Read the goals & tasks of the project join if it fits

Hi again Pam

How is it going so far. were the How-Tos pages helpful or did they leave you with questions?

Please ensure location data matches date of profile, avoid abbreviations, they cause confusion. Add full citations & links for sources as you go. From a profile wiki ID go to Research to find sources or to suggestion to review profiles in need of work

We want to help you learn about the site and the community, so hopefully you found all the different elements useful. I have page one, bookmarked as a reference page.

Questions click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

P.S. If links do not work in an email from WikiTree, try them from the comment section of your profile page

Thank you Pam for volunteering, You are now a full member of the Wikitree community. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Please start with the How-Tos - they are really useful as you add profiles and learn your way around

If you click the green tags on your profile page, you'll see if other members are following the tag. Add more surnames, locations, Country, County or town tags to improve links to community & research options. Information on tags is on page one of the How To pages.

Take your time, if you need any help using the site, let me know
