I am a proud mother; having twin sons who have given me four wonderful grandsons; two each. I love animals. I retired from teaching, 1st through 5th grade in local elementary schools in 2013 after 34 years of teaching. Today, I spend time with family and loved ones and enjoy every day we have together.
My mother has saved photos and negatives of family members and is sharing stories, memories, and people that grew up with her, or were a part of our family, and together we are climbing our family tree.
I began an ancestry blog entitled: http://www.ancestorsalley.com/ based on Amy Johnson Crow's 52 Ancestor's challenge.

We've made a change in how the tutorials are sent to new members. Instead of weekly messages you can now work at your own pace.
How is it going so far? Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions?

Be sure to check out the One Name Studies Project to see if anyone has started a project for one of the surnames in your family. Don't see one? Follow the instructions for starting your own!I
For your family research you might like to explore active projects to find a project to aid your research. Try the Native Americans
Please let me know if you have questions. :-)

I have just started a new blog in June of 2017 based on my research of my family tree. I am writing a short history post with photos of one ancestor at a time, usually once every two to three weeks. My blog can be found at: http://www.ancestorsalley.com/
You are now a confirmed member, and you can get started adding your family members. As we've said, WikiTree is quite different from other genealogy sites. So, we've put together a guided tour to help you learn how to use it. Your first stop is How to Start Climbing Our Tree.
Tomorrow, you'll hear from a Mentor who will check in to see how you're doing and answer any questions you might have.
Next week, you'll get another message with your next stop on the guided tour.
You can also meet some of our members by joining in the fun with our Question of the Week in the G2G forum: Were any of your ancestors involved in the American Indian Wars?
Welcome! David ~ Wiki Greeter
The email we just sent has helpful links to get you started.
WikiTree is different than other genealogy websites because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we work together on our share ancestors!
When you confirm your email address, youll be given an opportunity to volunteer to help document our collective family history.
Use the Tags and comments to tell us about your genealogical interests. It can be a name, like SMITH, or a place, like SCOTLAND. Be sure to click the "Enter Tag(s) and Volunteer" button when you finish!
When you volunteer, one of our Greeters will confirm your membership. Then you'll be able to add your family to the tree!
