Communication Preferences: I am interested in communicating private message with close cousins. I don't know much about my family tree yet.
Born at St. Francis Hospital in Charleston WV (1954), I was adopted at birth by Samuel and Julia Joan Vargo Kovacevich (an RN from a sister hospital -- Old North Wheeling Hospital, WV). At 4 days old, my adoptive parents took me with them to the Belmont, OH area, where I grew up, and where I still live. With the help of my biological 1st cousin, Darrel White, and Genealogist, Emma McBeath, by biological parents were proven, conclusively, to be Opie Otie White and Ruth May Pauley, both of the Charleston, WV area; they never married. Unfortunately, Ruth May died in 2016; but Opie White is still living (95). I am now Maryann Droll (married), but am not interested in finding anyone with my maiden (adopted name) or married name (Droll), just biological family names, especially PAULEY.

Mary Ann, I sent information to your regular email address. The email contained a lot of information so I was not sure if I could leave a mountain of information here. Just let me know if you received it. The email was from ruthpauley54. If the information I am sending you is correct, we are double third cousins. I believe we share a set of 3rd great-grandparents, Rhoda McClure (Pauley) and Elijah McClure. My grandmother was a McClure so we are related to both.

Hi Maryann. I was born over at McMillan hospital, just down the road from St. Francis, in '57. Raised in St. Albans, live in Huntington. Welcome to Wikitree.

As coincidence would have it, just the other night a cousin and I were lamenting on the poor, poor shape of our Pauley kin vis a vis Wikitree. Shameful. If and when you ever decide to build your tree, I guarantee that there are many opportunities in that area. So much to do.

Hope you find your cousins!

Hi Maryann and thank you for upgrading, 😊

I am very pleased to welcome you to the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together.

It is best to start with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.

You mentioned that you don’t know much about your family tree yet. I assume you are new to genealogy. No problem! Every genealogist is a beginner at some point. Take your time, keep track of sources and ask questions. Check here for tips.

I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.

Happy tree climbing

Pam ~ WikiTree Greeter

PS Did you know that Tags become clickable links to others researching those names, or places, that you are interested in. They also control what is included in the family activity emails from WikiTree.

Hi Maryanne

Thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. Getting the Best from DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

To get the best from it, you will need to Upgrade. There is no cost. Just go to your profile and click Upgrade near the words Guest Member, then answer five questions. Once you have upgraded, if you begin creating profiles for your ancestors, hopefully a connection to Darrell White will eventually become apparent.

I hope this helps! If you have any questions or problems, let me know.

Take care

Wendy ~ WikiTree Greeter
