DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Pieter by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Pieter:
Missing child, listed in bio as child #1, Henderik. See Brink-3050/364 (suggesting merge of two), Hoes, p. 40, #750, and p. 540, #461. Eldest son of Henderik Brink and wife Grietje Oosterhout is named Petrus, after paternal grandfather Pieter; second daughter, Annaatjen is (possibly) named after maternal great grandmother, Anna.
Brink-1825 and Lambertsen-21 appear to represent the same person because: Same person. Because his descendants used the name Brink, posterity wants to give him that name, too. However, there's no evidence that he ever used the name Brink.
Lambertse Brink-1 and Lambertsen-21 appear to represent the same person because: The name Lambertsen on Lambertse Brink-1 leads me to think that this unsourced profile was intended to represent a son of Lambert Huybertsen, but he got accidentally placed in the wrong generation. Also see my note on Lambertse Brink-1.
Brink-1406 and Lambertsen-21 appear to represent the same person because: same parents (merges proposed) no sources on Brink-1406 in indicate otherwise
Lambertsen-21 and Brink-73 appear to represent the same person because: Same dates. Children in biography corresponds. Not sure which Last name at birth to be used
There is no yet found indication that Pieter Lambertsen ever used the surname Brink for baptisms and marriage in Ulster County, albeit his death date taken from secondary sources uses Brink. This surname seems to have come up in later gererations. Is this another case of projecting a later surname back to ancestors?
Peter later used Pieter for church events.
Surname Brink was used in later generations
