Saw a recent merge. Foushee. Thank you for all you do. I only copied information from other sources to set up my tree. Have a few books prepared by others.
I tend to agree that the two Sarah (Sara) Jane Woodards (Woodwards) are the same persons since their spouses and children match. But we have different spellings of both her first and last names. However, Ancestry.com shows her father as being Richard Woodward, so i appear to have that name misspelled. I ran into some problems trying to merge them because of the different spellings. I am new at this, so i will let you do the merger, and spelling corrections.
Neal I do not think the two Solomon Teter's should be merged at this time. More information is needed and there is a discrepancy about Priscilla Smith Teter having a second husband. When was she married to George Washington Burge Sr. the purposed second husband. More research is needed before a merge.
Sarah L Hedrick Taylor is my grandmother. I am the youngest daughter of her daughter Nora Rebecca Taylor McKinney. My grandmother was born in 1889 and I was born 1959. My grandfather was Giles Johnson Taylor my mother's father. This is my direct ancestors on my mother's side of the family.
On the proposed merge of Mary Cantrell and Linder, the birth year and death year discripencey is way off. I need to look into my profile and book to determine what I am missing. It might take me a week or more due to work. I will figure it out. Great research on your profile Linder.
Hello Neal, I'm Casimer. "Should not be more than nine months before one of his children's birth dates" appeared on the Tillery-874 merge attempt. When the problem is resolved I will continue with the Tillery-1536 merge.
Thanks for rattling my cage on this merge. I misunderstood how merges work since this was my first one to participate in. You have helped me open my eyes to how it works. Am I correct in assuming that we are indeed cousins? One of the things I like most about genealogy is contact with a previously unknown cousin. One thing I don't understand is how I became the profile manager for Hunt-2266.
Please review the proposed merge of Barbara Ranck (Ranck-180) and Barbara Garman (Ranek-1) that you rejected. The research notes and attached G2G comments support the merge and address the differences.
Thanks for merging Minos Pepper. I'm wondering if you have any ideas about his wife. He now has 2 of the same name. The birthdates differ, and the parents differ. My hunch is one profile is probably wrong as to parents and birthdate, rather than the long odds of Minos marrying two women of the same name. But I have no idea which of the spouses is correct and which is wrong...

DNA at WikiTree provides a visual way for you to find others who have tested and have the potential of having common ancestors. To get the best results, you need to start with yourself and add sourced profiles for your ancestors until you can connect to existing profiles in WikiTree. 24 hours later, your test will have populated on the profiles of your ancestors and their descendants, where others with potential matches may also appear.
If you have any questions, please ask. I am happy to help! If I can't answer, I will help you find someone who can.

On June 14 I wanted to add commentary/notes about Robert Hamilton, who died in 1812, and to add various children. I am a descendant. I created Hamilton-23216. I added several children. Then I realized that I had previously failed to realize that a profile for Robert Hamilton already existed. The other profile Hamilton-2252 was created in 2011. I has parents but no children. My new profile Hamilton-23216 has children but no parents.
On June 18 I proposed a merge of 23216 into 2252. If that happens, it is my understanding that the children will no longer be attached and that the notes that I added to 23216 will disappear. That is fully acceptable. I am fully willing to redo whatever is lost. I acknowledge that I am to blame for the existence of duplicate profiles. I just want to fix it.
As of June 22 I have not had any communication from the manager of 2252. I understand that 4 days is a short period and people have many things to do. However, I strongly suspect that I will never hear from the manager of 2252. It is in this sense that my question is generic.
How long should one wait, and what do you do if you do not hear from the other party involved in a merge?
Don't worry, duplicates happen! When a merge is completed the biography from one or both of the profiles can be used so no info is lost. The connection to children will remain.
If you do not get a reply within 30 days, the merge can be completed without the other profile manager being involved.
If you need help with the merge in a month, so you don't lose info, just let me know.
I am pleased to confirm you as a Family Member of WikiTree, and welcome you to the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.
I would suggest starting with the How-to pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.
I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site
Happy tree climbing

Could you please tell me how you merged Baize-49 and Baize-15 when you are not their manager? I'm a bit confused. Thank you, Bob

Thanks for the proposed merger of your Uriah Holliman with mine. I agree with the merger.
Thank you.
Thanks for merging Daniel Lyncker (Lyncker-4) and Daniel Lüncker (Lüncker-5). Could you please merge Lüncker-4 and Lyncker-5 as well? Thanks!
