Biography
There were no children born from this marriage to David Hicks (nor my previous marriage in the 1970's), so the Ray Family lineage ends with my generation (no children by either of my sisters). Our maternal Pearse family line is carried on, though, through my mother's brother's family. Through those four sisters there are currently 10 adult children, and 6 grandchildren to carry on the Pearse family name.
It's been an interesting journey researching my family tree. One family "story" was debunked, and the other has proven true. My maternal Pearse clan is NOT related to Padraig Pearse, of Ireland. The family originated in Hatherleigh, Devon, England. Where this story started is believed to have been through my grandfather's brother, John Hill Pearse, after a brief trip to England. But, my maternal great-grandmother's lineage (Mary Arnold) through her mother (Mary Elizabeth Vickery) does indeed trace back to English, Scottish and French Royalty. Who knew!
