Biography

UPDATE - I may not be easily contacted due to an ongoing health condition.
New Zealand
Lianne (Irwin) Trevarthen lived in Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand.

I was born in New Zealand to Australian-born Peter Irwin, and New Zealand-born Heather Thompson. Both of my parents have Anglo-Irish roots.

My parents met when my father was teaching at Helensville School where my mother was a Dental Nurse. In those days dental hygiene was considered important enough to be treated on-site at primary schools. My mother had trained in Wellington as a Dental Nurse, and Helensville School would have been one of her first clinic assignments.

They married in early 1960, and lived in Helensville where my father had a school house provided for accommodation. The marriage ceremony was performed by my grandfather Fred Irwin, who was an Anglican priest.

Heather had a difficult second pregnancy with my brother, and I went to live with my grandparents in Te Kauwhata in the Waikato for a while before it was time for me to start school. I was prepped for school by some time at Auckland Kindergartens - attending a central city one in High Street, Myers Park, Mt Eden, and a couple of private pre-school kindergartens. As my mother was a single-mum who worked full time, my brother and I needed to be cared for during her working hours.

My parents separated and subsequently divorced.

Further biography is suspended at present, as I wish to have a public biography without compromising privacy.

I have become a WikiTree-er following involvement in the Mellsop Reunion in 2016.

With the commencement of the "Kiwi Crew" in August 2017, I would encourage anyone who has New Zealand associations, to join and participate in improving profiles for New Zealanders and their families.

In addition, I am an active Cemeterist, and one of the New Zealand Cemeteries Team. As a result of some of my work on Cemeteries, I updated information on Google Maps and provided photos of the cemeteries, which led to me being an active member of the Google Local Guides programme, and selected to attend the Google Local Guides event in San Francisco in 2019.

Hi Lianne

Can you please adjusting Dawne Winifred (Unknown) McAlpine (1926-1993)'s LNAB to Thompson, ( was merged around the wrong way some time ago) , so that she doesn't keep reporting as an "unknown" - tēnā rawa atu koe (thank you very much)

Hi Lianne

After a long break, we are now getting the New Zealand Project back in action. Would you like to join the Kiwi Crew Discord server? This is where we are discussing how the project will be organised, though any major changes will be signposted in G2G. There is no obligation to take part in challenges, but you may like to discuss NZ history and work with others to create quality New Zealand profiles. We’re a really friendly bunch.

Hi, Can you please change the last name at birth (LNAB) for Janet (Unknown) Graham to "McInnes" or add me as a profile manager so that I may change it? See her marriage record and the birth/baptism records for her daughter Mary, all of which show her LNAB to be McInnes.

Thanks

Hi Lianne,

It’s time for our annual Ireland Project check-in! Please respond within the next two weeks to let me know:

  • If you are happy with the team you’re on or if you’d like to make a change. It is now required that all members with an Ireland project badge work on at least one of the project’s team(s), so if you’ve not yet signed up please do so in your reply to this check-in.
  • What you think the project is doing well, and what (if any) changes you would like to see us make? Are there any teams you would like to become more active in?
  • Would you be interested in helping to work on an Ireland Project newsletter?
  • Please give us some feedback on the use of google group and discord. Do you use one or both of these? If you don’t use either of them, what is the best way for us to ensure you receive project communications? If you would like to join us on either one, just let us know in your response and we will get you signed up.

Please respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. If we don’t hear from you within two weeks, we will assume you are no longer interested in participating in the Ireland Project, and your badge will be removed. If you wish to reapply for membership later, we will be happy to have you back. Many thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Jen Hutton, on behalf of the Ireland Project

Hi,

The Global Cemeteries Project is currently undergoing our member check-in and wanted to verify that you are still active and interested in being a member of the project. Are you currently assigned to or working with one of our Cemetery Teams? If not, is there a particular Team or area you are interested in participating with? I would be delighted to help you get setup in one or more of our collaborative teams!

We use Google Groups for internal project collaboration, so if you are not yet setup for access feel free to submit a join request and we will get that approved as quick as possible. We also ask that members check their follwed tags to make sure you are following the correct project tag (CEMETERIES) so you don't miss any disucssions in G2G.

Last, but not least, we would like to thank you for all of your contributions to WikiTree and let you konw that any ideas or suggestions for improvement you may have for the Global Cemeteries Project would greatly appreciated!

I look forward to hearing form you soon!

Hi, I get a summary digest for the Google Groups, so keep up to date with that. Yes still involved, but with a number of serious family and health incidents in the last few months have found it a struggle. Once I get passed this in the next month or so, should be all good to go.
Thanks for checking in with us, and thank you for all your contributions to WikiTree! I am sorry to hear about your health struggles, but I look forward to seeing you around you the tree in the future!

Hi, yes I am active with Cemeteries and on a Cemetery team. I am unable to use Google Groups.
Hello, Lianne,

We noticed that you have not submitted your Member Interest Form yet. The information you provide through this form is vital to project organization and collaboration.

If we have not received your form within the week, we will have to assume you have moved on to other things and remove you from the project. You will always be welcome to rejoin should your interests shift back in this direction.

Thank you,

Fiona ~ Volunteer Coordinator

PS Please fill this in, Lianne. We know you'll be back when time allows.

Hi Lianne,

The Ireland Project (previously the Irish Roots Project) has now changed its structure into Teams. We require everyone with the Ireland Badge to be a member of at least one Team or Sub-Team and our google group. See https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Ireland for details. The Teams are :-

1. Categories Team 2. Counties Team 3. Managed Profiles Team 4. Membership Team 5. Profile Improvement Team 6. Topics Team 7. Diaspora ? Can you let me know if you’d like to stay on in the new project and which team(s) you’d like to join. Please also let me know your e-mail address so that I can get you added to the project’s Google Group or confirm you are already a member of the google group.

Many thanks,

Maria

Hi Lianne!

I am doing a six-month check-in with members to see if you were active in the last six months in Disasters Project. Please let me know, by comment on my profile or a private message, whether you are still active in the project.

How have you contributed to the Worldwide Mining Disasters sub-project or Disasters main project? (a contribution may be a space page for a disaster, disaster source, an edit for the space page, or profiles of people in disasters).

Have you any thoughts for other disaster space pages?

I look forward to hearing from you soon.
