Hi Wanda,

I see you are the Profile Manager for, Leonard Ballew (abt.1646-abt.1682). I was wondering if you might have any more information about him and especially any of his children. I'm trying to make a connection between this Leonard Ballew (abt.1646-abt.1682) and the Leonard Ballews that show up on Ancestry.com. Any additional information you can share on Leonard Ballew (abt.1646-abt.1682) would be greatly appreciated. Keith

Thanks for adding me to the trusted list for James Coghill. I appreciate it!

Regards, Donna

You just added a wife’s surname to a profile I manage that is a male, so could you please explain the reasoning for this ? Logon was added to Tanner-524. Thanks

Hi & thank you for joining the Virginia Project. We have two google groups - one for discussion and one for managed profiles. Send a join request if you'd like to join either or both (include your WikiTree ID, Richards-7070, so we know it's you).

When you get a chance, please add your info on the Virginia Team page. If you haven't already looked it over, Virginia Project is the main project page and has lots more information.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Cheers, Liz

Hi Wanda,

Can you add Teri Hoch to the trusted list for this profile? Hoch-353. She is doing revisions on some out dated research and some new results from the Winn Ydna study. Go to Privacy and Add to Trusted List. Thanks, Mary

Absolutely. I think she has to make a request on the profile and I’ll accept it. Not sure how the system works but I’ll give it to her

Hello Wanda,

Yes there were several French David families who settled in New France between 1630-1750. One of them was my ancestor Guillaume who subsequently moved to New England around 1680. This is well documented in the Andros Papers. The name morphed from David to Davids (his wife was likely Dutch) and then within 2 generations some of them just became Davis. I've not heard of your Pierre David. It would be interesting to see if there was a link between your David clan and mine.

I'm sure there's a connection. There's a Morissette family that came to Virginia and there's a Morissette family that went to Canada. They're the same clan. They all escaped to England, but some stayed longer in England in others.

Hi! Thanks for working on the Drury/Drewry family* of John & Mary (Pitt) Drury - Pitt-960 & Drewry-220. I've just removed myself from Mary's profile, leaving it an orphan. Posting here in case you'd be interested in adopting her. Let me know if you'd like to be a manager of John's profile (the other manager is inactive, so I probably will remain a manager for his profile until I can find someone to replace me).

Cheers, Liz

  • I try to keep my watchlist to lineal ancestors, and I'm not even collaterally related to this branch of Drurys.

Wanda -- I don't wish to offend, but i can't agree with the placement of Theodore Beall (born 1776 in Prince Georges County, Maryland) as a son of Mordecai Beall. I find it inconceivable that his parents could have written their wills without any mention of him, if he were in fact their child. When Mordecai wrote his will, his wife Elizabeth was pregnant, so Mordecai didn't know the name of his youngest son at the time. However, based on her will, this last child was clearly Elisha, not any Theodore. See my comments on the page for Mordecai and maybe one on the profile for his father William Beall. I would really appreciate your removing Theodore as a child of Mordecai and Elizabeth (Beall) Beall.

Thanks for correcting me. Not sure what led me to do that. I undid the connections. You can check to make sure I did everything right. Again thanks!!!

I am still interested to see what can be established about Theodore's ancestry. No doubt he did share some DNA segment with Colmore Beall, or at least I feel confident about that on account of finding that name "Rezin" in Theodore's family, as it also appears in the family of Zephaniah Beall of Beallsville, Pa., where Colmore lived. I'm adding a comment about Colmore on his profile page.

Hi Wanda, I notice you changed the CLN for Katherine Montague Twyman Warrick (Montague-452) from "Warrick" to "Twyman Warrick". Unless there is some documented evidence that she went by both last names combined, her CLN should be her last name at death, that is, simply Warrick.

Please refer to the Style guide (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Name_Fields#Current_Last_Name), "For non-living people, it should be the last name they were using at the time of their death. If a woman had multiple married names you can include the others in the Other Last Names field." I only mention this because Katherine is a very important person - the matriarch of the entire Twyman family in America - so I want to be sure her profile is correct. Thanks!

What is your source that Elizabeth (Unknown) Dameron (Unknown-343606) is the daughter of John Waddy? The source you quote only says that, "On March 19, 1679, he (Thomas Waddy) was appointed one of the appraisers of the estate of John Dennis, of which Elizabeth Dennis, the widow, was administratrix. Elizabeth Dennis afterwards married George Dameron."

Hi Wanda, I show that Mary Palmer Key's Mother is a Mallory. I wonder if her father was married twice, maybe we could move it to her Mother, even the information you posted seems to be talking about her Mother. Let me know what you think

hello Wanda,

Please note that women do not take their husband's names in New France and for some time after the conquest, and we don't now either for that matter. See https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Quebecois project page for guidelines on names and place names. Thanks.

Hello Wanda,

Thank you for your note. The only hint I have that this is a possibility is that Thomas Banks 1709-1789 named one son William Rand/Randol Banks. There is a variation on the spelling of the middle name. It is thought that the original spelling of RANDOLPH was RANDOL. This might be a hint of the connection. Notice, I say MIGHT. Anne (Isham) EPPES sister, Mary ISHAM married William RANDOLPH. Both girls daughters of Elizabeth Katherine Banks ISHAM.

Wanda - why did you add Bolling-658 to a father, when it clearly states on the profile that this William Bolling never existed?
Wanda, please do not add anymore duplicates on WikiTree. Please read though all the sources and also ask the Project before adding more children. There is already a John Bolling. Thank you.

Hi Wanda,

Thanks for all your work on WikiTree. I noticed that you recently created a profile for a pre-1700 ancestor and placed "Unsourced - from Ancestry.com" in the sources section.

There have been some updates to the Pre-1700 Profile help page and the Pre-1700 Quiz since you took it in April 2016. Please review both and let me know if you have any questions or concerns. You will notice that the wording has been modified to more fully explain the sourcing needed for pre-1700 profiles.

Please do not create any more pre-1700 profiles from unsourced Ancestry records.

Thanks,

Debi

Hi Wanda,

How are you? I'm David a WikiTree Mentor. Thanks for adding profiles to WikiTree.

Here is what our Sources help page says. It has lots of ideas: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Sources

The Sources Style Guide shows how to enter sources in the biography.

This page describes sources and how to enter sources and is one of my favorites.

Please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. Having dates and locations attached to every person assists in our mission as well - if you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info.

And I'm here to help too, just ask!
