I tried to pick a team, but I could be in many different ones, so I thought I'd let you guys choose where you think is most appropriate lol.
I live in Toronto Canada..... but it's pretty much irrelevant to my heritage.
My Mom was born in Linz Austria. Her roots are from Galicia Austria, Bohemia Czech, and Poland (plus Lithuania, Ukraine, Russia, Romania, with a splash of Ashkenazi Jew).
We don't know who my maternal grandfather was, as he was killed in WWII before my Mom was born, but I have been extensively researching and am confident he's from one of the places listed above, due to my DNA matches.
Most of the families ended up in NY, NY, some in McKeesport Pennsylvania, and some in Glencoe Minnesota.
My Dad's side came from the Bahamas, (Nassau & Spanish Wells), going back about 300 years.
His mom's roots are originally England, connected to all the Surety Barons of the Magna Carta (except the man who was the Mayor, sorry I forget his name), and I have just learned that several of my 9th gr-gp were the original settlers of Rhode Island in 1630's! Anne Hutchison was my 9th gr-Aunt. This is also the line of my tree that's connected to the many US Presidents.
I have also just recently discovered that my paternal gf wasn't my biological gf :( But I discovered who actually was my gf, and he was connected to some cool American Revolution era history with Sam Brady the Indian Fighter being my 1C 4xr.
My 5th gr-gp, Hugh & Hannah Brady, came from Ireland in 1730. That side of the family settled different areas of Pittsburgh in the 1730's.
My gf's maternal side are the Maple/McLain families from Princeton New Jersey
