Problems finding Polish sources.

Question

I was hoping someone could help find a source for my great grandfather. I only have my mother's aunts family tree to go by and memories of my mother. Would be nice with a "proper" source.

Antonia, check out this list of resources for researching in Łódź.

This may be his Baptism Record, #4398.  It looks like Russian but may be Polish, I can't read either.  Hopefully someone who can will translate it and confirm it is him.

Since they are your family, you might want to consider adopting the orphaned profiles.

I've been studying Polish for the last 2 years and thought I could make out some words, but that handwriting - wow. Guess I need more studying, or a class on stylized cursive handwriting.

Hello,

this for sure is written in cyrillic letters. Handwriting is very clear, I think, but I only know a few words of Russian.

I can read the first word Lodz'.
The underlined words are transcribed afterwards: Makcin Klimkiewicz (probably fathers name)
and Adam (the childs name).

Can somebody translate the Russian text?

Have you checked out the Poland Project page? They have leaders who can assist as well as resources on their page that point to Polish genealogical resources for research.
