How hot are you on the Scoville scale?

Wilbur Scoville, born 1865 in Connecticut, was a pharmacist who invented the Scoville scale for rating the hotness of chili peppers. He is descended from a long line of Scovilles including Puritan immigrant John Scoville.

Wilbur and I are 10th cousins, 2x removed, descended from John Cooke. How funny is that.

Wilbur's grandfather was the uncle of his grandmother. How creepy is that.

Wilbur was my 8th cousin in a couple of ways. Some of our common ancestors are named Hunter, Whitbred and Belcher.  Add some hot peppers and ... is it just me, or is there a food theme emerging?

Wilbur and I are 12th cousins, 4x removed through our common ancestor Peter Hildyard, Esq. I believe that makes me fairly lukewarm on the Scoville scale! ;-)
