Nancy Susannah Green was born in about 1753. Her year of birth can be estimated with fairly tight bounds because her first child Martha is known with precision to have been born in 1770 (see her notes) and her last child Emanuel is known with precision to have been born in 1800 (see his notes). If Nancy was born in about 1753 then she would have been 17 when Martha was born and 47 when Emanuel was born. There is not much wiggle room to move her birth year up or down.
Nancy's father is Lewis Green IV, who lived in the Porter's Fort / Osborn's Ford area on the Clinch River in Southwest Virginia (this area is now Dungannon, Virginia) from about 1772 until shortly before his death in 1785. That Lewis Green is Nancy's father is strongly implied by his act of deeding (perhaps gifting) land to Nancy and Peter Hutchinson on more than one occasion. The transactions are recorded in a Washington County Land Survey (1781-1797):[1]

In a book entitled A Genealogy of Lewis Green & Associated Families,[2] Judy Parsons Smith presents a thorougly-researched and documented genealogy connecting the various Lewis Green's active in Virginia beginning in the 1600's through the early 1800's. The author is adamant that the "famous" Lewis Green who was active in Southwest Virginia, knew Daniel Boone, was mauled by a bear, and lived near Patrick Porter in what is today Dungannon, Scott County VIrginia was Lewis Green, b. 1710. The reason that Lewis Green, b. 1724, could not have been the "famous" pioneer was that he was of record in Hardy County at the same time the other Lewis Green was active in the Clinch River area. Here is a link to the Hardy County Lewis Green, b. 1724.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Nancy by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Nancy:
I have moved Nancy Susannah Green to her correct parents. She is now connected to Lewis Green IV who lived on the Clinch River in the area that is now Dungannon, Virginia.
