Biography

[Andries Juriaense was christened 19 December 1649 in New Amsterdam.--possible confusion with a second Andries.] In 1672 he married Geertje/Gertruyd Cozyns/Cozijns, daughter of Cozyn Gerritsen, in New Amsterdam. They had at least three children (baptized 1673, 1676, and Catalyntje, date unknown, in New Amsterdam/New York). They are recorded as witnesses at grandchildren's baptisms in New Amsterdam/New York in 1699 and 1703. They moved to the Tappan Patent and were listed as members of the Tappan Reformed Church in 1708.

He was of the Jongbloed family but used the patronymic Jeuriense.

Andries and Grietje (Geertie, Geertruyd...) christened Jeuriaen in 1673 and Vrouwtje in 1676 in New Amsterdam.

Their lives were intertwined with those of the Haring/Haaring family; Geertje's sister Grietje Gerrits married Jan Pietersen Haring in New York in 1662, and this couple witnessed Geertje and Andries's wedding. See http://www.dutchdoorgenealogy.com/jan_pietersen_haring_firth_fabend.pdf. Their move to Tappan by 1708 followed Grietje there, as well as their daughter Catalyntie and other family members.

Research notes

Uncertain family

This Andries appears to have been the progenitor of the Jongbloedt name, immigrating from Bergen op Zoom, according to his marriage record. The other Andries Andriessen-13 appears to be the son of Juriaen Andriesz and Jannetje Jans as Jannetje appeared at the baptisms of his children with her second husband, Thomas Lambertsz.

The two Andries cannot be the same as the other Andries died before 1682 when his widow remarried and this Andries witnessed the baptism of his granddaughter in 1705. See the Church records on the respective profiles.

Going ahead and removing the parents, Andrieszen-11 and Jans-4; as discussed, he was most likely a progenitor with unknown parents, whereas the Juriaen and Jans were the parents of a Lysbeth born in Amsterdam and another Andries, born in New Netherland.
