The biography for Lisa Wood is empty. What can you add?
Hello my name is Lisa Ann Wood-Halstead, I was born on May 1, 1963 in Yonkers, NY. My parents are Barbara and Wayman Wood. My siblings are Marty (who passed away in 2004) and Donna.
I am married to my 2nd husband James Halstead, we have 2 daughters Lauren age 20 and Brianna age 17. I also have a married son Joseph age 33, from my previous marriage and I am the proud grandmother of my grandson Jack 2-1/2 yrs of age.
I was born and lived in Yonkers, NY for 10 yrs. and in 1973 my family and I moved to Haverstraw, NY in Rockland County. I grew up in Haverstraw which was absolutely one of the best places to grow up in at the time. It was so different then living in Yonkers, as Yonkers was more city like compared to the suburbs. I absolutely loved growing up in Haverstraw. As a kid it was more appealing and more to offer, more "green" areas, so much history, where everyone knew each other. We had one high-school in our part of the County, which was North Rockland made up of several small towns which was great because we all were friends, and still are til this day.
My parents moved in 1981 to Wilmington, NC with my younger sister Donna. My brother had joined the Navy and served our country for the next 4 years. I remained in NY, married my first husband. In 1984 I had my first child Joseph. Upon divorcing my husband in 1987, my son and I moved to Wilmington, NC. Eventually my brother and his family moved here as well. We all reside in Wilmington within a few miles of one another. We also have other family members on my mother's side that also live here.
My quest on this site, is to find out more about my father's side of the family which include the Richmond and Wood families and also more about my mother's side of the family which include the Vaughan, Kangyar, Redding, and Zimmermann families.
I am fairly new at this, so any information, suggestions, etc., would be appreciated!

You are now a confirmed member, and you can get started adding your family members. As we've said, WikiTree is quite different from other genealogy sites. So, we've put together a guided tour to help you learn how to use it. Your first stop is How to Start Climbing Our Tree.
Tomorrow, you'll hear from a Mentor who will check in to see how you're doing and answer any questions you might have.
Next week, you'll get another message with your next stop on the guided tour.
You can also meet some of our members by joining in the fun with our Question of the Week in the G2G forum: Have you discovered any real characters in your branches?
Welcome!
