Hi R, I’ve added some information to the profile of Sarah Brinkley, currently Unknown-650629 - can you change her LNAB to Brinkley, or add me to the trusted list so I can do it - thanks, Matthew

HI R -

I believe my 3x great-grandfather was in Henderson Co., KY with your family. It's a long story as to why I don't know for sure, but that I have many strong signals along with autosomal DNA evidence that I'm a descendant of the David Holloway who was in Henderson County in 1820 and likely the brother of Major John.

I understand that much of your family research is backed by a book on Starlings in Henderson County that ties them back to a John Holloway who married Rebecca Ballard in Mecklenburg, VA. I'm not in a position by any means to dispute that, but would like to point out that there are at least some signals that John's name was instead Bennett. There aren't any smoking guns and this will likely require further DNA study, but we have Bennett's last will naming his wife as Becky and witnessed by John Ballard, Jr. I think there's at least some plausibility that the Starling researcher got his name wrong in the lone reference made to him.

I totally understand if this detail isn't of great importance to your line, but it's proving to be very important to mine. I'd love to compare notes on this and see what shakes out.

Thanks, Joe

It's good to see you active at WikiTree again. You might be interested in some of the tips and tricks that we have included in the How-Tos that we share with new members these days. They were created long after you became a member so you never received them.

Thanks for having a big heart and adopting the Orphaned Profiles. This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need.

I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Participation in a project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. You appear to have several interests. Why don't you stop by the Project List (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Projects to see how you can participate? Let me know if you need help with anything. We are glad to have you on board!
