I am a history teacher by training and trade. I have recently been handed a 6 generation cache of family genealogical documents by my 90 year old mother and I want to share and improve the family lines she has entrusted to me. With the tremendous search and capacity at the disposal of the Wiki Tree community, I am hoping to both support the current work done by members and flesh out the work that has been a life long love of my mothers.

If you go to find, relationships in the upper right, and enter Tompkins-1494 and Tompkins-333, you will see they are not the same.
Saw your email note. Tim declined a merge I sent to him for -333 & -1494. Also, The COT by RAT is a lot of research with very little source info. I'm going to attach a thread I found some time ago. Let me know what you think. http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/TOMPKINS/2006-11/1163102928

Thanks for your message indicating you are looking forward connecting with the WikiTree community and expand our shared WikiTree family tree. I have found WikiTree to be an excellent tool for research and collaboration.
Collaboration might help bust through your brick walls. Because WikiTree has only one profile for each person, the further back you go in your ancestry, the more likely cousins will find you and help out. ANY Wiki Genealogist can edit "Open" profiles (over 200 years old = open). There's also a brickwall tag in the G2G forum: brickwall
You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add Profiles to WikiTree. Once you entered your family members it is exciting to see other people finding your family profiles, asking questions, and expanding it.
To show you the benefits being a WikiTree member please refer to WikiTree Community Membership.
If you need any help getting started check out the help section from the menu, top left, or head over to the G2G forum, or you might want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.
Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.
Great to have you on board, good luck growing your branches, and thanks for offering to help with our shared tree.
Ludwig :)
I am a new member and looking forward to connecting with the community and doing my part to further genealogical study.
