Birth and Baptism

She is the daughter of Lambert Van Valkenburg and Annetje Jacobs. ^[2]

Based on the baptism dates of her children and the probable date of her marriage to Andries Huyck, she is estimated to have been born in about 1658 in New Amsterdam, New Netherland, but her baptism is not recorded in the New Amsterdam church registers. Some Internet sources report that she was baptized on the 8th of January, variously giving the year as 1657, 1658, or 1659;^[3] the source of this detail is undetermined.
