Hi Robert,

We're contacting you for the annual Australia Project membership checkin. We really appreciate your involvement in the Project in the last year. Thank you so much for all your help to improve Australian profiles on WikiTree.

Please could you reply to this message, or send me a private message to let us know if you'd like to stay on in the Project, and if you'd like to make any changes to the teams that you belong to. The teams are listed on Australia Project Teams.

If you've moved on to other things for the moment, that's absolutely fine. We'd appreciate if you'd let us know so that we can remove you from the membership list.

Over the past year, Australia Project members have been more active on Discord. We're finding it a fun way to communicate as a project. If you're not on Discord yet, here's some information - Help:Discord. If you are already on the WikiTree Discord server, let us know, and we can send you an invite link to the dedicated Australia Project server (WikiAustralia) where all our chat channels are located. It's a great way to communicate with other members on your project team/s, or for any general questions.

We're always happy to receive any ideas or suggestions that you have to make our project even better.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

The Australia Project Leadership Team ~ Gillian, Margaret and Veronica

Hi Robert,

It's time for the annual Australia Project membership checkin. Thank you so much for contributing to the project and Australian profiles on WikiTree during the last year. We really appreciate you!

If you would like to stay in the project, please reply to this message or send me a private message to let us know that you would like to stay on. Alternatively, if your WikiTree and research interests have moved away from Australia, please let us know and we can remove you from the membership list for the moment. You will, of course, be very welcome to rejoin the project down the track whenever you want to.

We are also keen to know if you want to make any changes to the team or teams that you want to focus on. Take a look on Australia Project Teams to see what teams there are to choose from. If you want to discuss this, or have any questions or suggestions about the Australia Project we'd love to hear your ideas.

Thanks for taking the time to get back to us!

Kind Regards

Margaret Haining Membership Coordinator

I would like to remain active, thanks.

Thank you for responding to the check-in message, and for your ongoing contributions to WikiTree and the Australia Project, they are much appreciated!

Regards, Margaret

I only found the missing link to our shared 5th-great-grandfather Col. Thomas Beatty a few days ago from another descendent, Denise Bishop, with whom I was in high school in Glen Alpine, North Carolina a long time ago. Thanks for doing the merge. I look forward to collaborating if I can provide any new information on our shared ancestors.

Hi Robert,

I believe that you are 2nd cousin to my father, Richard Wingate Jr. His Grandfather was Thomas Austin Wingate, the son of James Franklin Wingate, and Lucy Allen Wingate. I am new to Wikitree, but I've been doing research on Ancestry for many years. I'd love to know if you have any photos of the Wingates. I have a few of Austin, and his sister Lena to share if you are interested.

Best Wishes, Kimberly Wingate-Deslandes

Hi Robert. I am connected to your maternal Grandmother's family - the Martins. You emailed me last year about this family. I am interested in hearing how your Mum ended up in the USA. If you are able to share the story on your Grandmother's page ( Beryl) as your Mum's page is private) that would be wonderful. This has got me wondering about how many other siblings went to the USA.

I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Participation in a project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Be sure to also check out our Volunteer Hub to see our projects that really need new members!

Let me know, and I can help you figure out if there's a project that might interest you. Welcome aboard, we are glad to have you!

Thank you for the record. Lincoln County was formed in 1779 so I kept that as the marriage location.

Thanks for volunteering; You are now a confirmed member of WikiTree!

WikiTree members are always eager to offer guidance to a fellow genealogist so ask for help if you need anything.

If you have WikiTree-specific problems you can contact a Mentor? at the Mentors Project.

Take a look at our Question of the Week: Do you set weekly genealogical goals? If so, what do you want to accomplish this week?

Looking for some great ways to help out our collective effort? The Volunteers Needed page is the place to go!

Welcome

Welcome to WikiTree!

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

You'll get an email from us that has helpful links to get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any other genealogy site out there.

When you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests.

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? ?Fill in the tags and comments on your profile to show what you're researching? and click the "Save Tag(s) and Volunteer" button, and one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!
