Jackie Minter, Benoit, Saucier, Yaggi was born in 1954. She was born in Gary, Indiana. Her father was Ray Kettler Minter and her mother was Jo Hill Minter. They were away from their true home in Mississippi. Ray was painting Al Kapone's ranch outside Gary. They went home in time to have Raymond Minter who was born nine months after his big sister. He almost did not make it because he only weighed two pounds. They later returned to Mississippi and had three more children, David, Jefferey, and the baby Nancy. The Minter grandparents lived in Ellisville, MS on Blank Street. Their home was paid for by my father and his brother while they were away at WWII. It was an old horse shed that had been made over into a house. My grandfather Joseph was a United States Marshall and Justice of the Peace for Jones County at one time. The Hill grandparents lived in the oldest home on the Ridge Road about 1 mile out of Soso, MS. Grandfather George Hill had inherited the home and 80 acres from his dad, John Hill. He was married to Lois Sumrall, Hill. She was a member of the Sumrall family of Soso. Jackie grew up in Laurel, MS until the age of five, when the family moved to Ellisville, about 15 minutes away. There she attended Ellisville Elem. School and then later South Jones High. She graduated from high school in 1972. At the ripe old age of 17 she married her high school sweetheart, Arsene Benoit, Jr. in June, shortly after graduation and in May of 1973 she presented her husband with a bundle of joy named Arsene Martin Benoit III. Sixteen years later Jackie married James Saucier. She had four step daughters with James Larry Saucier. They are Kim Saucier Watson, Tammy Saucier, Angie Saucier, and Tracy Saucier Chambliss. After, fifteen years with James, they divorced. At the age of 46 Jackie completed college. She attended William Carey College, in Hattiesburg, MS, where she completed with a degree in History and English. Five years later she completed testing and received another endorsement to teach Special Education. Jackie started working at Heidelberg, MS, She worked at the William J. Berry elementary school teaching History and Science. She later changed from 5th grade to only sixth grade English and History. Then in the spring of 2005 she moved up to Special Education at Heidelberg High School. During the time teaching school, Jackie worked for Create of Mississippi writing lesson plans online for the government. She also got a Certificate of Completion from Intel in Education innovation for "Teach to the Future". She also attended Democracy at Work seminars in North Carolina and on the Gulf Coast. After being divorced for 10 years Jackie remarried in 2014 to James Richard Yaggi of Laurel, MS. Jackie and James reside in Laurel with their dog, Tootie and two cats. She is not the proud stepmother of Bridget Yaggie Strain and Amanda Yaggi Brown and the very proud grandmother of 18 wonderful grandchildren. The grandchildren are Russell Morgan, Anna Katherine Dukes (who is expecting) Leslie, and Victoria children of Bridget. Her husband, Chip Strain has three daughters, Amorous, Abagail, and Amanda. Then Amanda has Jacob, Josh, and Kristopher. Amanda's husband Jason Brown has a daughter named Rory (Aurora) who is married and has a baby girl. Arsene Martin Benoit (son of Jackie) has four children, Taylor Renee Benoit (daughter of Denise Tibedoux, Benoit (Lake Charles, Louisiana), Colby Stark (son of Shelly Stark, Kinder, LA), and Bodie and Riley Benoit who live in Tuscaloosa with their adopted parents Gerard and Sarah Jackson. I saved the best for last, my baby grandson who died on the day before Easter 6 years ago and lives with the angels in Heaven, Gabrielle Cash Benoit.

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential.
Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or topic. Review the project page to learn how to collaborate with the project members.
Can't find what you're looking for? Let me know, and I can make some suggestions! :-)
