I cut off my tree, for the most part for anyone born after 1905 so you'll need to contact me for descendants of those I've entered.
I'm also numbering my sources as I go then putting the number in brackets that corresponds to the source next to the fact. That gets out of a full source being list more than once with in line sourcing and taking up server space.

I am using some of the apps created by WikiTree users to help me source profiles.
Check out the ones created by Rob Pavey. He also explained how to use them in a Feature Friday video which you will find as a link on his page about the app.

Thank you for the information on Ada B Graham's marriage. I am not sure that this is my Grand Mother as I do not have her living in NSW however I will do further research. Regards David
I noticed that but do know that sometimes marriages are done out of one's residential area. Example: 'Gretna Green' type places, for California, USA it was the state of Nevada, ease marry and divorce. The other idea is, oh what is it called when the location of the wedding is the highlight, again for California planning ones wedding to take place in the state of Hawaii.
Good luck Carol
Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Pre-1700 ancestors can be shared by many descendants, so collaboration is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
The Scotland Project may fit your research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.

One of our mentors created a tutorial for the GEDCOMpare process that others found very helpful. I hope that you will too.

Thank you. I do have a question when do you check the box next to the ID in the GEDCOMpare? I started checking, then unchecked and now I'm now sure. There is a little bit in the 'add button' about the box, which is making me lean toward checking after I've checked that person.
Thank you Carol Weldon
It can be a bit confusing at first, if you are sure that the suggestion is the correct person, then check the "match" box, if you are unsure then check the "reject" box, once all those are done then you can start to add the remaining people.
Any problems please let Cindy or I know
Take care
Karen
I'm contacting you as I don't know who else to contact to make a suggestion. As I'm going through the GEDCOMpare process I'm finding several duplicates already within Wikitree. I have started merges on all of them so far. So far the problems appear: 1. person goes by their 'middle' name all their life. 2. people are only researching one or two people in a family and so matches appear not to match. A problem I've run into is that instead of blank dates in my database I have ranges ie. between 1900-1950 for a birth or other event, between 1910-1920 for a death, etc.; also I have before a year ie. before 1920. The system with GEDCOMpare &/or Wikitree doesn't appear to recognize between, before or after in the date area. So I'm going in and changing dates within 'search' to see if the person will pop-up then.
The suggestion is that after one is finished checking and one's tree is excepted into Wikitree that there be a process similar to GEDCOMpare where one can recheck to see if duplicates have shown up. Maybe even make in an annual challenge?
