I have been unable to upload my Gedcom files as I have over 4,000 ancestors in my family tree and my husbands family tree. I do have my own website for anyone who wishes to look through it at www.woodford-ancestry.com/

Congratulations on certifying to work on Pre-1700 profiles! It is very important to read and understand https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1700_Profiles These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines laid out on that page.

One of our mentors created a tutorial for the GEDCOMpare process that others found very helpful. I hope that you will too.

I am pleased to confirm you as a Family Member of WikiTree, and welcome you to the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.
I would suggest starting with the How-to pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.
I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site
Happy tree climbing

I see that you have had your DNA tested, congratulations! Getting Started with DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.
To be able to add profiles, you will need to upgrade (there is no cost). You can do this from your Upgrade page. Just answer the five questions, e.g. who you want to communicate with, if others can see your family tree, what surnames, locations, or topics interest you, etc, and click on the green box that says "Upgrade”.
Upgrading just means you will become a Family Member with the ability to work on your immediate ancestors to help us achieve our goal of joining all individual family trees into one global family tree.
I hope this helps! If you have any problems, let me know.
Take care

Thank you for helping me. I have just opened an account on Wikitree and trying to find my way around and having problems up loading my gedcom file. I have tried several time but it gives an error message of file image too large. I have 4,500 ancestors on my tree, is this too large to upload? Regards Janet
