Biography

Marie Josèphe was born and baptized on 8 September 1750 in Annapolis Royal. She is the daughter of Charles Raymond and Magdelaine Petitot. [1] Her sponsors were Jean Melançon and Brigitte St. Seine.

Marie Josèphe and her family were among the Acadians who escaped the 1755 Deportation by seizing, with other passengers, the boat Pembroke, which was supposed to transport them from Annapolis Royal to exile in North Carolina. [2]
