Biography

Confirmed lineage to George Webb, b. 1794 VA, who moved to Anderson Co, TN in early 1800's. However, my Y37 DNA test showed I match descendants of William Adkins, b. 1689 VA. So, sometime between 1700 & 1794 (possibly earlier) there has been a non-parental event. Does anyone know of any Adkins~Webb connections in that time period? Thanks

This is completely unverified but I have in my notes that the parents of John Webb were Joseph Webb and Charlotte Adkins. I have not added them because I'm not sure it is the same John and do not have documentation but based on your DNA it seems likely. Just thought it might be a place to start.

Hi Rick,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or special event. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Hello everyone. I have proven lineage to George Webb, b. 1794 VA, & migrated to Anderson Co, TN in early 1800's. However, my YDNA-37 test from FamilyTree DNA matches me to William V. Adkins, b. 1689 VA. Apparently there is a Non-Parental Event somewhere in my line & I am an Adkins by blood. I think it occurred in mid 1600's to mid 1700's. Has anyone with Adkins DNA have any Webb's in their line? Thank you.
