Hi Mary, It looks like you may have some outstanding merges that need attention. You can find them by following the link at the top of this page under >My Wikitree>Watchlist, then hit the button that says Pending Merges. If you need help, just ask.
Mary, do you happen to speak any other languages? Would you check out our languages template and add it to your biography? For example you might add
{{ Languages | en | fr-2 | ga-1 }}
to the top of your biography if you speak English natively, intermediate French and basic Irish, or you could use de-4 to specify near-native German or ru-1 for basic Russian, and so forth up to ten languages.
It really helps to know who speaks all the different languages used on WikiTree! If you only speak English, you're very welcome to use this text to make that clear:
I just wanted to check in and see how everything is going. Hopefully you are getting settled and familiar with our site. If you have any questions I'm happy to try and help or our Forum is full of friendly people.
If you haven't yet, you might want to check out How To Use WikiTree. It's a great guide on how to navigate our site, its features and some great tips and suggestions on how you can improve our ever-growing WikiTree and your experience here.
If you're wanting to delve a little deeper into WikiTree you might want to check out our Projects.
If you need any help with anything, feel free to ask! Thanks!
That's awesome that you've done so much research on your family. The LDS site has some fantastic tools.
My name actually comes from The Lord of the Rings. Eowyn is a character in the book. My dad was an English major so I have literary names. :) Of course Tolkien stole Eowyn from Beowulf where it was stolen from Celtic druids of long ago. I love it.
As for your GEDCOM, there is a process we go through here at WikiTree. It has a few stages. You can read how it works here.
I just wanted to take a second to welcome you to the WikiTree family and thank you for volunteering! There are many great people and resources available here to help you.
If I can help in any way, I will certainly do my best! Please don't hesitate to ask :)
Happy hunting!
Eowyn
