Hello Kevin- You say that the Fisher genealogy says Mary Battelle married Thomas Bryant...and so it does. This is an erroneous mistake. That is a single source. I have sourced Mary's marriage on her page. You may want to check those 1st tier sources. If you find another source saying Thomas, please let me know because perhaps the mistake lies with Torrey, Savage and the town of Dedham, and will definitely want to update my own database. Shoot, I forgot -- instead of doing the merge yourself, you could just put me on the trusted list, and let me do it. Or get the practice; either one.

Hi Kevin, thanks! First, I'll clean up any mess. Second, if you hit "merge" before Jim Wormell, he'll wind up doing the work; You just click merge, and the merge app kicks it to him, approved by you.

But if you wind up doing it, this is a pretty simple merge. There's no conflicting dates -- one tree just has a lot of unknowns. Click merge, look at the compare; click merge again, it'll show you a side-by-side of both profiles, with little round radio buttons clicked to show which information is coming from which profile. Make sure all the "known" information is checked, and all the "unknowns" aren't (should be, by default). Hit merge again, and it'll prompt you to do her parents. Same deal; make sure the "knowns" are picked. Then I get an email, and clean up the profiles. Yay!

Try our Relationship Finder! It searches 20 generations. If you find a duplicate profile, the other managers are probably related. You can use this to find out how!

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom, or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.
