Hi Becky

Thank you for your note. Sorry to hear you are feeling a little lost

From your contributions you seem to have done well in the past so possibly you just need to refresh by exploring the how to pages. Wikitree is different from many other sites as here there is always someone to help out. Best thing to do if you get stuck on a particular thing is to ask in the Genealogist 2 Genealogist (G2G) forum see https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/ or go to the drop down menu under Help - top right of your profile - click on the G2G Forum and it will up the ask a question page

No question is silly we all started out as novices so just ask the community for help

Enjoy building your tree

Regards Janet

Welcome back to WikiTree thanks for signing the Honor Code,  I hope you discover as much about your family as I have about mine over the last several years.

There have been some changes so you may wish to check out the How to Pages Click here for some quick tips on working with both the Wiki pages and our other members. There is some great information in these pages.

If you have questions about how WikiTree works, let me know and I will find answers. Just click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page. Or ask your questions in our G2G forum Click Here

Hi

Congratulations, you've been a WikiTree member for a month! We're glad you're here. A few tips to help you dive in even deeper

Check out Beyond the Basics of WikiTree for a guide on some of our more advanced features such as Projects, Categories, and Merging.

We're very active on our social sites and we have an excellent blog where you'll find our monthly newsletter as well as tips, interviews with our members and guest posts from others in the genealogy community.

And we're always looking for volunteers to assist in different ways.

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Hi!

I'm Eowyn, a WikiTree Mentor and Team Member. Our primary vision is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person. The farther back in your tree, the more likely you will find duplicate profiles to link into, so it's a good idea to do a search before you create a new profile. Try to add an estimated date and place of birth, at the very least, a country, for each person. This helps in searches. Last but not least, try to source each profile as you go.

We also have a naming standard here.

Feel free to check out How To Use WikiTree. It's a great step-by-step guide to get you started.

Do you have any questions I can help with?

Hi Rebecca,

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.

If you need any help getting started check out the Help section,or head over to the G2G forum, you might want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.

Good luck growing your branches, and thanks for offering to help with our shared tree :)
