Biography

Suzanne was born July 13, 1969 in Brownwood, Texas to Garland Ray Bailey and Glenda Jean Snodgrass. She went to school at Brookesmith from Kindergarten to the 7th grade. She was taught to read by her paternal grandmother, Pearl Brown Bailey, at the age of 3, because she was ahead of her age/grade she was promoted from Kindergarten to 2nd grade. In the 8th grade she and her younger sister, Marla, started attending schools in Brownwood.

Suzanne first married Ronnie Smith on 02/01/1986 in Brownwood. They had 3 children, James, Dylan and Macee. They divorced in 1994.

Suzanne then met Christopher Monroe in 02/1998. By November 1999 they were married.

Suzanne stayed at home with the children for most of their young lives. She then worked outside the home until her disabilities forced her to stop.

She has always been interested in her family history. And really dove into it after the death of her mother in 2008. Her DNA has been tested and is on GEDmatch, Ancestry, Geni and here at Wikitree. She has strong roots from the Czech Republic, Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland, Germany and a touch of Native American thrown in for good measure. Suzanne is a 5th generation Texan, and is Texas proud!

My Grandmother, maiden name Brown, told a family story of a tornado going through MS, many of her family were killed. The story goes that one of her cousins, a young girl, was singing a hymn when impaled with a piece of wood. Tragic story, but makes me wonder also if it wasn't at a church revival, or she was just singing to find peace in the storm. My Grandmother and her family went to where they were, after the storm, to help. I have attached a newspaper article about that storm on my Ancestry tree.

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz, Suzanne!

Pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, coordinating with others is essential.

I see you have joined Czech Roots Project. Great choice. Thanks for joining.

If you have need of another project for all of your Southern families, I suggest US Southern Colonies project. Leaders are Paula J and Mags Gaulden.

I am here if other questions arise.

Hi ,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful. Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies. If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles. Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations. If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page. _____ Matt~ WikiTree Mentor
