Hi Chris: I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self- Certification. That's great! Also noticed you made 165 contributions to Wikitree, thank you!

You may want to add some tags on your page indicating a family name for one tag and a specific location like (country) or ( state) for another and then add other surnames or locations as tags as desired. That way you will be connected to others with the same interest.

Click on http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:Following to add or remove tags. Be sure to add comments explaining why you're following the tags. Those appear on your profile too.

Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Here are our WikiTree projects you might like to check out: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Projects

Hi Chris,

One of your recently uploaded photos is a nominee in our "Family History Photo of the Week." We'll feature the winner on the main WikiTree home page all next week and share it on our social networks. I assume you wouldn't mind having the photo featured like this, if it were to win. If for some reason you wouldn't want this, let me know right away. We could remove it from the list of nominees if you let me know before Friday. Also, it isn't necessary, but if you have any more information about the photo or the person, I am sure members of the group would love to hear any stories or information that adds background color. You can add the additional information in the comment box here underneath the photo. Thank you!

Hi Chris

I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process including screenshots that you might find helpful.

If you have any brick walls, collaboration might help bust through. Because WikiTree has only one profile for each person, the further back you go in your ancestry, the more likely cousins will find you and help out. ANY Wiki Genealogist can edit "Open" profiles (over 200 years old = open). There's also a brickwall tag in the G2G forum: brickwall

The help pages give lots of information about the process, best to start with 'GEDCOM'.

Happy WikiTreeing

Hi!

Thank you for joining WikiTree. As a WikiTree Mentor I am available to answer any questions or help solve any issues you may be having.

I hope you're enjoying our site. Our primary vision is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person, so please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. Having dates and locations attached to every person assists in our mission as well!

Feel free to check out How To Use WikiTree. It's a great step-by-step guide to get you started.

We also have our Help Index with links to topics you may have questions on. Don't forget our G2G Forum where many of our generous members help each other out.

And of course I'm here to help, just ask!

Chris,

Did you know we have a project for DNA where a lot of great new things are happening? If you are interested and would like to check it out, go to the FIND link top right of your profile page, select PROJECTS from the drop down box, and then select the link for the DNA project. It has information listed that might be of interest to you, and feel free to contact any of the members if you would like additional details.

Hey Chris,

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.

If you need any help getting started check out the help section from the menu, top right, or head over to the G2G forum and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House, you might also want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.

Welcome!

From Ohio. I have DNA test results that I have absolutely no clue what they mean or how to make them useful to me. Hoping to have common ancestors to help me understand. Very willing to share what I have.
