Myself I am born and live in Bodø in the north of Norway. Two adult children from the first Marriage with Kristin. Henrik is a church organ/piano player/student. Emilie has completed her physician training and is an intern. My second wife is a clinical psychologist, and her daughter is atm studying to be a psychologist. Myself I work as a psychiatrist in our local hospital in an outpatient unit.
Other interests: computers/macs, anything Apple. A little programming.
Genealogy experience: My best research was done In The 1980’s when I uncovered our Swedish branch (Bäckström) in Haparanda Nederkalix. Recently I Think I have found A quite different Family branch in Faaberg, Lillehammer, Norway. And there is The mystery of The Hay’s in North Norway. Unsolved.
Apart from that, local history and genealogy books have provided the necessary information, mainly. My paternal family stems from Norrbotten (Sweden), and from Fauske / Valnesfjord, and Sørfold. Some ethnic Sápmi in there (25%?). My maternal family mainly comes from Harstad. Local tradesmen. And the Hay’s, allegedly Scottish ancestors. My ex-wife’s family comes from Vesterålen and Helgeland. My in-laws are mainly from Helgeland and Trøndelag.

Thank you for signing the Honor Code and for adding your DNA Test information to your profile on WikiTree. Your information will be propagated to the profiles of your parents and your ancestors within about 24 hours of being added. It will also propagate to the profiles of the descendants of your ancestors, so they may see your information under the heading "DNA Connections" just as you can see theirs.
Getting started with DNA outlines how to proceed to use your DNA test information on WikiTree and DNA is a link to a collection of links about WikiTree's many features involving DNA.
The DNA Connections list on your profile will provide a visual way for you to find potential relatives on WikiTree who have also added their DNA test information. Using DNA tools at sites like GEDMatch.com, if you find a relative that matches your DNA sufficiently and you have genealogical sources for the intermediate relationships, you can mark the specific parental relationships back to the most recent ancestor that you both share as "confirmed with DNA." For details, guidance, and examples of how to properly document DNA confirmations, see DNA confirmation.
To get the best results, continue adding sourced profiles for your ancestors until you can connect to ancestors already in WikiTree. If you have exhausted what you know on one line, it can sometimes help to add what you know on another line. The more branches you are able to add the greater the likelihood of finding potential cousins to match with. The process of identifying which branch elements of DNA relate to will better enable you to find matches that relate to the particular branches you are researching.
One of our mentors created a tutorial for the GEDCOMpare process that others found very helpful. I hope that you will too.
Check out the How-to pages for some quick tips on working with both the Wiki pages and our other members. There is some great information on those pages.
Let me know if you have any questions and have fun!

You've been a member for about a week so I thought I would check in to see how it's going. Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions? Most of us have questions after all that information!
I want to help! Click my name, send me a private message or ask in the comment section of my page. Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

I recommend starting with our New Member How-To pages. They will save you time, energy and frustration as you create your family profiles. Building your family tree on WikiTree will help you connect with others who have the same ancestors.

Above all, have FUN! :) I hope you enjoy WikiTree as much as I have!
P.S. If you ever get a "Page Not Found" error when you click a link in a WikiTree email, you can usually find a functioning link in the public comments section of your profile page.
I have a person named Alf Bechstrom that is my 25th cousin thrice removed. Would this person be related to you?
Sincerely, Marietta Oliver [email address removed]

Welcome to WikiTree! The email we just sent has helpful links to get you started.
WikiTree is different than other genealogy websites because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we share ancestors and work together as a BIG collaborative team!
What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research youd like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree?
When you confirm your email address, youll be given an opportunity to volunteer to help document our collective family history. Use the Tags and comments to tell us about your genealogical interests.
When you volunteer, one of our Greeters will confirm your membership. Then you'll be able to add your family to the tree!
We're really glad you're here!
