Biography
Amos was born about 1735. Amos Bennett married Anna Duncan.
Amos Bennett was living in Wyoming at the time of the Indian attack in 1778. In 1785, he removed with his family from Orange County, NY to Wyalusing where he lived until 1791, then purchased the Ketchum possession and settled permanently in Asylum. He built a little tub-mill at the falls, below the road, on Bennett's Creek.[1][2]
He passed away in 1813.[3]

- Downey-1809: Find a grave has his birth as 1748 Find A Grave: Memorial #166682898 and familysearch has it at 1735. https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/sources/LTMG-L7C. This profile is a duplicate to Amos Bennett. Do any of the sources below support either birth year?
- Alternative Parents: Robert Bennett-16254 and Meribah
- Petrick-63: 1748 seems to be the prevalent date used, including FindAGrave and DAR. His parents, Abraham and Silence were not married until 1737; two sons were born in 1742 and 1744.
Robert and Meribah didn't marry until 1755, too late in any case.
- There seems to be no official birth record for Amos extant.
