Hello Patrick!

We are so happy you have upgraded to the Family Member level.

Please visit our tutorial pages to learn how to use WikiTree: How To Use WikiTree. They will save you time, energy, and frustration as you add your family profiles.

Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.

Questions? You can always use the G2G link in the Help Menu to find answers.

Patrick:

Don't worry Patrick, many Guests find the process confusing. In fact, we're in the process of making changes!

See if this helps you any. If not, get back with me.

There are two key things you’re trying to accomplish, one is to VOLUNTEER and in the process you'll add a few TAGS regarding your family.

To volunteer, you can do this from your Navigation page. Then just add TAGS showing your genealogical interests e.g. surnames you are researching, and in the comments box by them add the location/relationship to you. Make sure your TAGS don’t have spaces between words or at the end, instead, use underscores for TAGS like North_Carolina. Then click on the green box that says "Save tags and volunteer" and we will then be able to confirm you as a member.

Thanks, Peggy -

I'm an Ancestry.com guy, and am having a little trouble understanding how to plunge in here, but I'm sequestered and patient. I may get back to you. -Pat

Hi Peggy,

I feel pretty dumb, but I've just set this aside because there is no clear step 1, 2, 3, etc. It says that I'm a guest member, but I just don't know what to do to become a real member. I tried to agree to the rules of good behavior, but to no avail. Got any hints? -Pat
