Biography

Lydia (Chandler) Higgins immigrated to New England as a child during the Puritan Great Migration (1621-1640).

Lydia, probably daughter of Edmund Chandler and his unknown first wife, was born say 1614 in England or Holland or ?. Not in Massachusetts[1]

She married Richard Higgins in Plymouth, Massachusetts 11 Dec 1634.[1][2]

She died after the birth of Benjamin June 1640 and before Richard's remarriage Oct 1651[1].

Richard and Lydia had two children Jonathan (b. July 1637) and Benjamin (b. June 1640), other children of Richard were born to his second wife[1].

In 1995, Robert Charles Anderson reported Lydia was "probably" the daughter of Edmund Chandler (abt.1587-aft.1662).
