Hi Paul,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, coordinating with others is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Based on your tags the German Roots Project may fit your research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to review other possibilities. Read the goals and tasks of the projects and join those which are a good fit.

Have questions? Ask in the comments section of my profile.

Hi Paul, I see Debi already posted a message for you but I would like to add another link as well; https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1700_Profiles

Members of WikiTree think sources are important, especially for early profiles, that is one of the reasons we have the pre-1700 quiz.

Please add sources to your pre-1700 profiles before adding any more to WikiTree.

If you need any help understanding how WikiTree works you can ask questions in the forum called G2G; https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/ or contact a mentor, this is where you find them: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Contact_a_Mentor

Hi Paul,

I noticed that you are importing pre-1700 ancestors from a GEDCOM file.

Could you please take a few moments to review the Pre-1700 Quiz and the explanations about the sort of sources WikiTree is looking for, as well as this very handy list of sources which are considered "not quite good enough" before you add any more pre-1700 profiles. The guidelines call for us to Research before Editing or Creating.

Thank you,

Debi

P.S. If those links do not work in the email, try them from the comment section on your profile page.

Thanks Paul for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz

Because Pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects coordinating them is essential. Please ensure location data matches date of profile and avoid abbreviations. Add citations & links for sources to enable verification of data

The German Roots Project may be of interest. Adding the tag German_Roots will connect you

Explore Pre-1700 Projects list to find one that fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or topic. Read the goals & tasks of the project join if it fits

Questions please ask
