Georges fils de Jean Etur et de Claire Cordier sa femme fut baptizé, nommé par Georges Brilly et par Catherine Barrois fille d'Estienne le 29e Jour (avril 1665) »[1]
Il arrive au pays comme soldat d'une compagnie franche de la marine, celle du sieur de Muy.
Mariage
Georges Estu dit Lafleur, soldat de la compagnie de Monsieur de Muy, fils de défunt Jan Estu maître tonnelier et de Claire le Cordier, épouse Marie Loiseau, fille de Lucas Loyseau et Françoise Curé, le 9 février 1699 à l’église Sainte-Famille de Boucherville. [2]

Georges Estu dit Lafleur est inhumé le 2 juillet 1747 au cimetière de Saint-Sulpice, âgé de 97 ans, natif du Havre de Grâce en Normandie, veuf de marie Loyseau, et ancien habitant de Lavaltrie, décédé en cette paroisse (St-Sulpice). [12]

In the first Canadian marriage of this family (Georges to Marie Loiseau), Tanguay records the family surname as “Ethier dit Lafleur.” Altho the actual marriage record (Drouin) is difficult to read, it also appears to be written as Ethier or Ethie or Ethir. As WikiTree rules require LNAB to reflect such early names I have used Ethier for Georges’ and his three children listed by Tanguay. As is obvious, this surname changed much over the following generations, with Etie and Hetu being predominant among the descendants.

please correct last name at birth, Éthier is Tanguay's interpretation of the name, should be Etur at birth par Godbout's research, source attached. Current last name would run Estu or Hétu, the more modern form in Hétu, not Éthier, which is another line entirely.
