John first married Abigail Salter Hammond, the daughter of George Salter and Elizabeth (Munning) Salter of Dedham, Co Essex, England.
John and Abigail Hammond had, in Watertown:[2]
John secondly married Sarah (Sary) Nichols, in Charlestown, on 2 March 1663-4. They had the following children: [3][4]
John married for a third time to Prudence (Wade) (Crosby) Cotton in Rowley, on November 7, ____, likely 1689 based on Sarah's death date.[6] Prudence had previously been twice married, first to Anthony Crosby, Jr. and secondly to the Reverend Seaborn Cotton. Although Prudence had at least two children from her first marriage, and her second husband mentions Prudence and her three sons in his will, there is no evidence that John and Prudence had any children, together.
