Research Notes

Vital Statistics

Birth
She is reported as age 60-70 in the 1830 US Census and age 70-80 in the 1840 US Census. She was therefore born about 1765, plus or minus 5 years.

Based on her birth date estimate only, her husband Richard was therefore born about 1762, (about 1765 - 3 years) = about 1762.

These censuses enumerated effective 1 June 1830 and 1 June 1840.

An unsourced birth date of about 1761 was previously listed.

Disproved Identity

Elizabeth (Unknown) Harvey (abt.1765-aft.1840) was previously purported to be a Morel, the daughter of a purported marriage between John Anthony Morel (bef.1733-1776) and Elizabeth Landry (aft.1730-).

No sources have been found to support the existence of that Morel-Landry marriage or daughter Elizabeth Morel. Spratlin-29 01:51, 5 May 2023 (UTC)

Detaching Unproven Child

Detaching child not listed in any of the documents :

  • Lemuel, m. Sarah (unsourced), b. about 1790 (1850). He is listed immediately next to a William Harvey, age 75, and john Harvey, age 29, in the 1850 US Census. Research of all sources determined there was only a Lemuel with spelling variations including “Samuel”. All “Samuel’s” found were Lemuel. Lemuel was not listed in the probate records of Richard Harvey, Sr., records of Richard’s wife Elizabeth nor in the Will or probate records of Emanuel/Elizabeth Harvey. His parents are unknown.
