Hi Henry

Congratulations on being Pre-1700 certified! Now it's time to pick a project that fits the pre-1700 profiles you'll be working on.

Is there a location, topic, historically-significant ancestor you're interested in? Look at the list of active projects to see if one fits your needs.

Once you find a project, visit the project page for how to join. You can also use the Following link to add the project tag to your profile, and you'll be kept up to date on any activity that occurs for that project.

Check out German Roots Project, leader Jacqueline Clark with 3 sub projects.

Questions?, Just ask.  :-)

Hi, Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, here are a few more features you may find useful

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you will run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page or G2G Post. Sandy ~ WikiTree Mentor

Hi Henry,

You are now a confirmed member of WikiTree!

Thank you for volunteering. I hope you don't mind if I call you Henry. We are very happy to have you here.

Don’t forget to sign the honor code.

Have fun and ask for help if you need it! WikiTree members are always eager to offer guidance to a fellow genealogist.

If you need additional help, our Mentors Project is a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to assist you with WikiTree-specific problems.

See you in the branches –

Hi Henry,

Just to mention that you may want to use your own surname, since this enables your profile to find its rightful place in our family tree. Our naming conventions can be found at Name Fields.

It is not necessary, but suggested.

Amy

Hi. I am a amateur genealogist who has worked diligently over the last 10 years to resolve questions and brick walls in my family history that have stymied relatives for ages now. I have worked very hard and travelled to answer the questions that no one else could, and have succeeded eminently. I now wish to share some of my work with other's to help them, and hopefully they can reciprocate.

Hi Henry,

Welcome to WikiTree! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used.

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, you’ll see a Volunteer option on your profile page. Click that and leave us a short message about your genealogical interests, on your profile page. A Greeters Project volunteer will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!

Welcome to the family! We’re really glad you’re here.

Amy ~ Greeter
