Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

We are so happy you decided to upgrade to the Family Member level.
Please visit our tutorial pages to learn how to use WikiTree: How To Use WikiTree. They will save you time, energy, and frustration as you add your family profiles.
Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.
Questions? You can always use the G2G link in the Help Menu to find answers.

Its totally up to you. My favourite thing about WikiTree is the collaboration - and the bio boxes...these just radically alter the way I research my family tree....you could just add one profile at a time and really work on the bio if you like.
Or... you could upload a GEDcom...
One way to "bring" your tree over is in a GEDcom (GEDCOM stands for GEnealogical Data COMmunication. It's a file format for transferring family tree information), a GEDcom is exported from Ancestry and uploaded here at WikiTree, where you will need to compare your GEDcom to other profiles already on WikiTree. GEDcom's have a size limit - it's usually around 5000 people, which is a very large tree and I would suggest that you split your GEDcom into smaller chunks (here's an Ancestry page about splitting a GEDcom). GEDcom's can take some time to work through properly, however are really great at finding duplicates, which can be very helpful for someone like me where spellings of some surnames can vary quite a bit. A lot of people get stuck in the GEDcompare at the part where they need to compare ALL suggested matches (either reject or match) before the system will add the "add" button.
I hope this helps - give me a shout if you have any questions/problems
Kindest regards ~ Pam
