Die van STRYDOM kom nie in Europa voornie, maar wel as Stredonck, was waarskynlik woonagtig in Stredonck, Nederland. Hy het egter dokumente nagelaat waarop hy die van Strydom [Strijdom] self opgeskryf het. Die familie wapen word van sy vrou Marina Ras as stam moeder ontwikkel. In rooi, 4 versmalde skuinsbalke van blou; oor alles heen 'n klimende leeu wat in sy regterklou 'n nabenede gerigte swaard hou van goud. ^[8]
