I was born in Brockton, Massachusetts to Harold Cobb and Elizabeth Lawrence. I was 4th of 5 children. We moved from Massachusetts when I was 4 years old. I grew up mostly in Fairfax County, Virginia where I lived until 1988.
Currently, I'm living in Georgia. I started researching my family tree after my son gave me an Ancestry dna kit for Christmas a few years ago, and my passion to build my tree and learn about my ancestors has grown and grown.
Have you taken a DNA test? If so, login to add it. If not, see our friends at Ancestry DNA.

Since your mother is a Lawrence, her family will help other Lawrences find connections and begin to become united. Welcome aboard.
Many of my Ancestors settled in Connecticut in the Early to Mid 1600's. If you message me with some of the CT. Families you are looking for I may be able to help. I do have a few Wheelers' in my Tree as well.
Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
The US History Project may fit your research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn about resources and how to collaborate with the project members.

I have a Cobb line from Maine that I am stuck on. Maybe we will eventually meet up!

It's great to have you on board. Enjoy your time here, and good luck growing your branches. If you need help just click on my name you'll be transferred to my profile where you can post a message or send me a private message. I hope that your journey here is easier. If not, send me any questions you have! I sincerely hope you will learn to love WikiTree as much as I do.
Mindy ~ WikiTree Mentor
Thanks for volunteering! You are now a full member of the WikiTree community, and can start adding your family. Let me know if you have any questions.
Since WikiTree is different from other genealogy sites, we have a guided tour for new members at New Member How-To. Feel free to work through the How-Tos at your own pace.
Once you add profiles to WikiTree they become searchable and in my experience persons interested in these profiles will contact you and may provide further information to expand your family tree.
Great to have you on board, enjoy, and good luck growing your branches.
Ludwig :)
