DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Mark or other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
  • Mark (Cramer) Scott: Family Tree DNA Y-DNA Test 700 markers, haplogroup R-BY181273, FTDNA kit #B62527
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Mark:

Hello Mark,

It's Thon time again, this time the Connect-a-Thon! It will be from January 13-16, 2022. Do you want to participate with Team Cornbread Catchers in this Thon? Use this link to get to the G2G sign up post! Click "Answer this post" and mention that you want to be on the Cornbread Catchers team!

We hope you can join us!

Debi

PS For this event, "connecting" means that you use the add links on a profile created before 13 January to create profiles for parents, siblings, spouses, and children. The goal is not to connect to the main tree but to add as many linked profiles as possible.

Thanks for sourcing, Mark.

Thanks BIll. I had a lot of fun. Got sucked down some rabbit holes on some of the profiles and I learned a lot.

Hi, Mark. I've not seen you pop into the Discord chat, so wanted to make sure that you know how proud I am of all of us. Thanks for helping keep Team Cornbread Catchers in the top 10 so far. Debi

PS You can delete the whole Unsourced line, including the locations. The locations were there just to give members an idea of where records might be found. They are no longer needed once a source is on the profile.

Really enjoyed the Source-A-Thon. I learned a lot and am now cleaning up my own tree sources. Looking forward to more collaboration and maybe even a Friday Date night on occasion.

Hi Mark,

I'm getting things lined up for the Thon tomorrow and don't find you in our Discord channel. Here's a link to the G2G Chat post.

Let me know if you have any questions,

Hi Mark,

I noticed that you used the Challenge Tracker to track a change during last month's Sourcerers' Challenge. Please consider officially joining us for the Sourcerers' Challenge. You can find information, including how to join, on the Sourcerers Project page.

No pressure, every profile with a source makes our WikiTree better. Your work will continue to be included on the Tracking Sheet even if you do not register.

Your work is appreciated. Thanks for sourcing!

Debi - Sourcerers' Challenge Facilitator

PS If the link does not work, you can find a working one in the public comment I left on your profile

Hi!

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Shirley Dalton, WikiTree Mentor

Hi Mark!

I love digging into Canadian records, do you have any information regarding the Boughner brick wall you have? I would be willing to look at my lists of records for information. Drop me a PM - (click reply on Deborah's page) below and when you get to my page, click send private message. Cheers--

Thanks for volunteering, William! You are now a confirmed member of the WikiTree community.

As you add family profiles, you can use the green tabs near the top of each profile to find out what info will be visible to others - just toggle between private and public views.

If you need help, ask a question in our G2G forum: http://www.wikitree.com/g2g.

Most WikiTree members are eager to offer guidance to a fellow genealogist. If you need additional help using WikiTree, our Mentors Project is a great group of volunteers who will be glad to assist you.

Check out our Question of the Week: "What's on your genealogical bucket list?" Stop by to join in the discussion.

Hello William, and welcome to WikiTree! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used.

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

When you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to become a member of WikiTree. Just add a Tag for each family name or place you are researching. Then click the “Post Tags and Volunteer” button. One of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership.

WikiTree is an exciting and growing community and we are really glad you decided to join us.

Shirley
