Communication Preferences: I am interested in communicating private message with anyone who shares the same ancestors. My family tree is at <https://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/tree/169607102/family?cfpid=162199758311>.
I love working on family genealogy and talking with distant cousins. My mom and my aunt started working on our family genealogy over 30 years ago. They visited many courthouses, cemeteries, libraries, and spoke with countless relatives. My mom even put together a book of our Holcomb family history that I refer to almost daily. I'd love to share information and help in any way that I can. Lydia

Lydia, here's a long shot, but I noticed you have John Hardy Haigler (1913–1986) in your Ancestry tree, perhaps because of his Hampton ancestors. Would you know anyone with photos? His house burned, and his grandson (my daughter's half-uncle) asked if I could help find some.

No I don't have any photos, sorry I wish I could help.

Thanks Lydia for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz. As Pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within a project is essential

Please ensure a location is entered on all profiles and data matches dates of profile. Avoid abbreviations as these can mean different things or location around the world, add sources with citations & links for sources to support the data. From wiki ID go to Research to find sources

The United States Project and its sub projects for each state, would be of interest. Adding the tag UNITED_STATES will connect you  Follow this link for your Tags:   your tags

Explore Pre-1700 Projects list to find one that fits your research focus.

Hi Lydia,

This is a courtesy e-mail to see how things are going. Are you enjoying WikiTree so far? Have the tips in the New Member How-Tos been helpful?

Please do let me know if you have any questions about how WikiTree works, no matter how small. My rule of thumb when I started was to search for an answer for five minutes, then reach out to my Greeters, and then resume searching. I might have found the answer before they got back with me but they sometimes offered a different way of doing the same thing which was easier.

You can reach me by using the reply link for this comment or send a private message from my profile by clicking my name. See you in the branches,

Debi ~ WikiGreeter

P.S. Did you discover that the tags on your profile are clickable links to a page of other people who have that tag? They also control the information which is included in the activity reports which you receive from WikiTree. You can add more, up to 20 total, or delete some if you are receiving irrelevant information.

Thanks for signing the Honor Code, Lydia. I hope you discover as much about your family as I have about mine over the last several years.

One of our mentors created a tutorial for the GEDCOMpare process that I found very helpful. I hope that you will too.
