Hi Tammy

Thank you for adding a GEDCOM. The GEDCOM does not automatically populate your tree it generates a GEDCOMpare report which you work through either accepting or rejecting suggested matches, once that has been done, you add any remaining names manually.

The GEDCOMpare process guide has tips on how to use the data in your file most efficiently.

If you have any questions about how WikiTree works, let us know by using the "reply" link under our comments, or by clicking our names to visit our profiles. From there, you can leave a comment, or send a private message.

Hi Tammy, I've been racking my brain trying to see how we were related. I know Glen had worked on a Wimpee branch. But for some reason it just never clicked in my mind.

I haven't worked on William's and Sarah's children that much.

I started a Jester Name Study https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Jester_Name_Study don't know if I told him or not. AND there are links to other work I have done on the Jesters.

Welcome to wikitree.

Hi Lynette, I am Glen. I had Tammy sign in, to add her DNA, but she mostly just looks at this site. I kind of work backwards,...sometimes. I was going back and adding sources and noticed that Michael Stapleton was older than.... who I thought was his dad. So I dead ended it, for now, on that branch, I am mostly moving the tree over from Ancestry.com, so the family can see it for free. I have a lot of people in my family, excited about seeing, what I have done so far.

I can use all the help I can get. I am trying not to make a mess out of it. I really don't know what I am doing. I had only names of people I knew on my tree, for 5 years and I was hoping someone would come along and do the tree up to my tree. When that didn't happen, I started doing it. I am like a bull in a china shop. But, at least something is happening on here, LOL , I will tell Tammy you wrote. If she don't notice, Thank you for reaching out. Glen

Glen, you are doing fine. AT least you are trying.. I spent at least 6 months crying when I joined. And you haven't done too badly. REALLY!!! You haven't. And if you do have problems, all you have to do is ask. Sometimes, some of us (me) forget what its like to be new. If you ever need help, we are all here to help. Just holler!!!

There are still alot if Wimpees to add, If you follow Wimpee and Jester you can see what I am doing, and call me on it when I make a mistake. I might argue. but we'll work it out.

Thank you, i just worked on Tammys true lines on ancestry. Com, so I will know if it is right or not from DNA. I have a clear path to the Jester family and fairly far back for the Jester Family, from Tammy's DNA. I am not that far back yet, on entering it, to wikitree, but when i run into yours i will let you know. I will stop on that branch, if someone gets upset. I am will go like crazy at something and just quit one day and move on...i never know when, i will just have enough of something. I was into remodeling my house for the last 6 months of last year. I am doing this untill the money catches back up and then i will be back working on the house. I put all 3/4 oak floor down. That was hard for a 58 year old man, that is out of shape....lol i just have bathrooms and the kitchen left to remodel.....the most expensive rooms...thanks for the compliment on the tree.

Mary Ann Jester Wimpee was the daughter of William Jester and Sarah Hay. Mary Ann is already in. I descend from William's brother Burgess and Sarah's sister Mary Ann. That makes Tammy and I double cousins, thru the Hay and Jester lines. And I'll warn you right now, Priscilla is not the mother of the Old William's children. James T. Jester of IL is not the son of Levi in Butts County, GA and William N is not of this Jester line.

Just remember don't make duplicates.

Hi Tammy,

If both of them are you, then they should definitely be merged. Your profile should be under your maiden name, so that one will be the primary profile.

Look at the bottom of the page - there's a link marked "pending merges." If you click on it, and put in both names, it will start the process. A side-by-side comparison will pop up so you can verify birth dates, locations, etc. If it's still you, go ahead and merge them.

The next step is pretty important: another side-by-side comparison will turn up, but you get to choose which data is the most accurate. When it looks good, go down to the Biography section. BOTH biographies appear, so you get to edit them into one good one that reflects what you want to say about yourself. Just remember that WikiTree is a public website.

Then you confirm, and boom, you're done.

:)

Fleming-11640 and Stapleton-908 are not ready to be merged because: My husbands tree has me as Stapleton-908
Fleming-11640 and Stapleton-908 appear to represent the same person because: I am in my Husbands tree as Stapleton-908
Hi, Tammy!

I am pleased to welcome you to the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together.

It is best to start with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration. Have a look at our Sources page it is also helpful.

Thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. Getting the Best from DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.

See you in the branches.
