Hi Betty,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Pre-1700 ancestors can be shared by many descendants, so collaboration is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

The United States Project may fit your research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.

Have questions? Ask in the comments section of my profile.

Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).

Hi again Betty,

Thanks for taking responsibility for the Orphaned Profiles. This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need from their profile managers. One quick way to find the profiles you adopted is by searching your Contributions List for the word "adopted" and "manager." You can find a quick link to your Contributions List in the My WikiTree dropdown menu.

If any of those profiles have GEDCOM cleanup to do, there is a new tool that can help. It makes it easier to concentrate on the genealogy instead of the formatting. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.

Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources, merge duplicates, clean up GEDCOM biographies, and interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!

Debi

PS I noticed the information in your communications. First let me say thank you for your service. What really caught my eye were the variety of canine companions you have; that's quite a collection of fur and drool *giggle*

Thank you Debi, Everyone is so helpful on this site. I did adopt orphan files since they are my ancestor and I do have a lot of info on them. My paternal and maternal grandparents have boxes and books on our kin and they all came to me when the passed. I do have a couple historians in my family one on the Mayo and the other on the Underwood's. I just have to go through every document and sort to the proper family member. I recently purchased a small portable scanner so that will help. On a fun note, my 4 legged furry babies keep me busy, the basset she is 16 so she sleeps all the time, the bloodhound slobbers and digs but very lovable. The newfie is another story, that boy now weighs 160lbs and thinks he's a lap dog. You are absolutely correct about fur and all the slobber. The slobber ends up in the most unique places. When the grandkids aren't around they keep me laughing. Have a wonderful day and thank you for the advise. Betty

Thank you Debi, I will need some help once I download my tree. Each one of the ancestry sites are different but they each have something to offer so I belong to most of them. Again Thank you. Have a nice day. Betty
