I started researching my ancestors in 1990. They are mainly from the Netherlands but some are from Germany, Belgium (Vlaanderen), Switzerland and England (Suffolk/Essex). My Dutch ancestors are mainly from the provinces of Friesland, Groningen, Zeeland, Utrecht, Noord-Holland, Drenthe, Overijssel and Noord-Brabant.
In the event of my death or incapacity for more than 180 days, I give the following permission: I would like all of the profiles for people not living, and which I alone manage, to be changed to Open. Should these profiles not be accessed within 180 days from my demise, the Wikitree staff shall have full and total access to manage said profiles in any way they see fit, up to and including assigning them to any willing Profile Manager, orphaning them, or deleting them.

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Pre-1700 ancestors can be shared by many descendants, so collaboration is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
The Netherlands Project may fit your research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.
Have questions? Ask in the comments section of my profile.
Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles that you manage or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).

P.S. To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.
Thank you for upgrading and signing the Honor Code. I am pleased to welcome you as a member of the WikiTree family. Your contributions will go a long way to joining the world’s trees together.
I would suggest starting with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.
Please add as much information as you can, with sources, as it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.
Have fun collaborating on your ancestors
Wendy ~ WikiTree Greeter
The GEDCOMpare process guide has tips on how to use the data in your file most efficiently.
The GEDCOM will not automatically populate your tree, it generates a GEDCOMpare report which you work through either accepting or rejecting suggested matches. Once you have done this the data from your file will be filled in on the add profile screen so that you can review and make adjustments before saving.
If you have any questions about how WikiTree works, let us know by using the "reply" link under our comments, or by clicking our names to visit our profiles. From there, you can leave a comment, or send a private message.
