Jane, I see that it is too late for any advice before editing ... you have already done it before asking here.
If you had asked here before adding all that information, you would have found that a Wikipedia article itself is not a source of anything. Wikipedia articles often cite sources of the information included in them and those would be valid sources for you to cite to support the same facts.
You also did not provide a citation - you just wrote "Wikipedia" as your citation, so ... in answer to the question that links to the WikiTree Style Guide, yes you definitely should know about style guidelines before having proceeded. By all means, please definitely see the information provided at that link. If you had provided a link to the article, I would have checked it to see if it cites any real information sources.
