August 2022 in Review

Here are some highlights of things that happened around our community in August:

News:

• The Source-a-Thon is coming up soon! Have you registered yet? If you have a business or product related to genealogy or history, donate a prize.
• We introduced "Tree Tops"!
• If you missed the New Member Q&A Live with Betsy Ko broadcast, watch it here.
• We wrapped up Jennifer Lopez's WikiTree Challenge week. See the highlights.
• Kay Knight updated her BioCheck app.
• Greg Clarke updated his SixDegrees app.
• Check out the photos being shared each week in the 52 Photos challenge and the profiles being improved during the 52 Ancestors challenge.

Members:

• Ronel Olivier returned as a Project Leader.
• Katie Bryant and Kate Schmidt became Project Coordinators.
• Tabor Fisher, Cheryl Cruise and Margaret Summitt became Team Leaders.
• Marcie Ruiz, Oscar Evans, Todd Murray, Mindy Silva and Betsy Ko were interviewed and featured as Members of the Week.
• Virginia Fields was awarded a Super Star. 
• Top contributors for August: Jim Loden, Patty LaPlante, Koen van Hoof, Britt-Marie Sohlström, and John Elkin. Click here to see what surnames they've been working on.
• Cas Erasmus has 15,435 connections within seven degrees (CC7), making him our most connected WikiTreer!
• Patty LaPlante had the biggest jump in her CC7 in August: from 5,635 to 10,655. That's an increase of 5,020 connections!
• Sixteen members received Community Stars, 41 received Family Stars, and 44 received Generous Genealogist badges (see here, here and here).

What a great month for us all! Thank You, Eowyn for the summary.  It's amazing how much our tree grows on a regular basis!
