First of all, I like to thank you all for your hard work and enthusiasm. We all did a wonderful job. I really love you picked up the challenge! Thank you, thank you! It s just big fun this way. :)

Princess Mabel has now instead of zero ancestors 81!!!!!!!!!!!!! ancestors. :) Isn't that great????? Just proud this was accomplished in only 4 days!

Mabel (Los) van Oranje-Nassau's ancestors are:

-Complete on sourced ancestors till generation 5, her Great-Great-Grandparents.........

-but even better!: almost complete (only five missing out of 32!!!) generation 6 her Great-Great-Great-Grandparents. :D

-And best: 24 Great-Great-Great-Great-Grandparents out of 64!! That is just A FANTASTIC RESULT!!!!

See: Tree Widget Mabel Wisse Smit (born Los)

A special thank you to all participants.Thank you to B.W.J. Molier! our always supporting and best connector of the Dutch_Roots_Project! Also to Peter Scheffer who added so many profiles (:D Even if they "just" came from "Vorsten", that was just great!). Thank you Peter! :) Jan........ and Bea: Our great leaders at the Dutch_Roots_Project supporting us all and guiding us. Best searchers/sourcerers we have. :) Thank you!!!!!

Then at last I like to thank Rob Ton!!!!! Smiling big, as he added so many ancestors to Princess Mabel, supported and sourced as ever so well. :) I think we have a winner. :) But we will wait till WikiTree has fully uploaded all (takes about 24 hours) and honor the winner with a badge!!!!! Asking all to be just a little patient. :)

Now our monthly challenge starts Tuesday (2016-05-03). :D I am not telling what the challenge will be but it will be something alike of this succesful FIRST KING's DAY Challenge.

On behalf of the Dutch_Roots_Challenges Team

Thank you for your efforts!!! and the big fun!

Bea Wijma And Astrid Spaargaren

This challenge would not have been possible without the cooperation of [[Grifhorst-1|Martyn E. Grifhorst]] who added me (Astrid) to the trusted lists of our Royal Family to make it possible to add the family of our Princesses. Thank you Martyn!

With on the second place, and very close, Peter Scheffer.

Wonderful work of you too Peter! Thank you!

@Rob I am sure Bea will honor you with the connector challenge winner badge a.s.a.p. and the challenge template.

Again thank you all for the fun and all the hard work. :)

Tomorrow we start our monthly (May) challenge with a little liberation edge :D

Hope you all will find some time to participate.

WikiLove,

A.

could not add (find) the sourcerers challenge winner badge, so I guess connecting Mabel to her deep ancestors ...a connector challenge winner badge is a good choice as well eeh :)

Wow! Of course that is great! Thank you Bea! :D Rob also earned the right to add the april winner dutch roots challenge badge!

:)))))))) Isn t Rob the Master of Templates at WikiTree? Thought I saw that somewhere.... :D

Yes he is, he also created the Dutch Roots Templates :)
Wow so he can add his self created template now? :) He is just lucky!!! :D

Well Rob deserved anything anyway. Winner or not. Peter is on the nomination list. Happy I met him here :D

Back short to unsourced profiles after finding the head tap in the rain of my mother in law lol! Night all!
The challenge templates were created by Abby , the Dutch Roots Project templates are created by Rob ;)

Hi, I'm too busy with the King's dinner in my street and the hunt for special stuff on the Vrijmarkt. Success with your challenge!
by B. W. J. Molier G2G6 Mach 9 (91.2k points)
Hahaha No worries B.W.J. Don't forget your snow boots and winter coat! :/ Besides the challenge lasts till next Sunday.

Go and have fun B.!
Well I'll of course try if I can find some ancestors here or some sources for them :D
Yeh!!!!!!!! :D I already added unsourced parents for Mabel profiles set to open. So anyone can have fun there!

I will for Laurentien now! :)

And the gparents of Maxima. :)
OH! Bea is in front now!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
:D Bea you have to make one window to put in what you found. Name the profile and behind it what you added with where you found the source. And count them! lol :D
The one window works only if we stay within the 8000 words ...quite hard for chatterboxes like us :P
I added a few unsourced death dates so I could edit the privacy of the profiles and are open now. I also added some of you to the trusted lists!

Wow you re all working hard!!! :D Thank you for that!!!

hahahaha I love that info!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D Call in Joop!!!!!!!! We need him to work on that profile! :D

I think you can add info to the parents of Mabel so go! and name profile here....... what you add and the source you used.

Something like

2. http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Los-30 added birthdate [http://verbaljam.com/archive/2003-10-07/de-kruiwagens-van-mabel]
Yes we could use some help here eeh :)

An unsourced website I looked at suggests that Roberta Hermina van der Helden born Duisburg was the daughter of Hendrik Cornelis van der Helden and wife Judig van Woerkom.

Hendrik Cornelis van der Helden was on my 'to do' list as a child of Fier van der Helden so if we can find sources to connect them it could fill part of her tree back to about 1644 (Jan Gerrits, my patrilineal 8th Great Grandfather)

Now that would be really awesome ! Will try if I can find some sources

Here's a Biesters genealogy Nachkommen von Heinrich (Hendrik) Biesters which might be interesting for you Rob...it has

Jacob Biesters born 24-07-1755 in Neukirchen-vluym Rhineland, Prussia, son of Heinrich (Hendrik) Biesters and Catharina Appels. Jacob died 09-04-1814 in Heerewaarden, age 58. Jacob married, age 30 , on 02-07-1786 in Heerewaarden, Adriana Ton, age 20. Adriana was born 20-10-1765 in Heerewaarden, daughter of Hendrik Ton and Aaltje Telders. Adriana died 15-01-1830 in Heerewaarden, age 64 . They had eight children, one of them is son Johannes Biesters born 06-12-1793 he married first Elisabeth Moring , they had a son Jacobus Biesters  b. 25-09-1825 in Heerewaarden (which is your Jacobus Biesters) married to Adriana Sepers , also present here already eeh :)

Or maybe this is the site you mentioned ...no sources here either .. but great to use as a lead...

@ Rob He is a son of Fier van der Helden , see the marriage record :)

And here is his birth record Hendrik Cornelis van der Helden

Geboorte Hendrik Cornelis van der Helden, 06-08-1883
Aktenummer:  26 Aktedatum:  07-08-1883
Akteplaats:  Heerewaarden (Maasdriel)
Kind: Hendrik Cornelis van der Helden
Moeder: Geertje van Toorn Vader: Fier van der Helden
Aktesoort: NormaalToegangsnummer:  0207 Burgerlijke stand Gelderland Inventarisnummer: 4258

And here the whole family including Roberta Hermina is mentioned in a familyregistration chart

Roberta Hermina van der Helden, birth 10-05-1915
Voornaam:    Roberta Hermina
Tussenvoegsel:    van der
Achternaam:    Helden
Datum geboorte: 10-05-1915

Bevolkingsregister gemeente Heerewaarden
Gemeente:   Heerewaarden
Register:  Bevolkingsregister 1910-1920
Periode register:  1910-1920
Bladzijde:261 Toegangsnummer: 3150 Bevolkingsregisters van Bommelerwaardse gemeenten, 1810 - 1940 Inventarisnummer:   319 Vindplaats:  Regionaal Archief Rivierenland

Three children of which Roberta were born in Duisburg and the other children all were born in Rotterdam, I think it maybe was because of his occupation (saylor, skipper) some of the children were born in Germany ?

I've built the profiles for Hendrik Cornelis van der Helden and Roberta Hermina van der Helden, and connected them to Hendrik Cornelis Los

I was hoping to find a newspaper source for the marriage or death of Roberta Hermina and Martinus Los but the dates are not covered in any collection I could find so I instead cited one of the sites linked above - I also did not find a corresponding entry in the online begraafplaats

That connects me as 8th Cousin of Princess Mabel of Orange-Nassau. And extends one line of her ancestors back to the 17th century.

Really great this worked out so quick and so well !

Now the Biesters : Death Jacob Biesters 2 April 1847, son of Jacob Biesters and Adriana Ton. He was married to Stijntje van Zijderveld.

And here's a second marriage of Adriana Ton, (If remember correct she was above Jacob's mother) and daughter of Hendrik Ton and Aaltje Telders , she was married to Jacob Biesters and remarries Arnoldus Velcke, (Son of Coenraad Velcke and Ann Elisabeth van Oss) in 23-04-1815 in Heerewaarden

Bea -I am a little lost on how the Biesters family and the record for Bartje Firant van Woerkom are connected to Mabel Wisse Smit. (or was that just incidental information you had run across?)

The van Woerkom line Mabel is descended from is , working up from 1st Great-Grandmother Judig > Gerrit > David > Jan > Aart

Yes Rob it's information for one of your own Ton family lineages, so it's not about a connection to Mabel ;)

Adriana Ton (first marriage Jacob Biesters) was the mother of the Johannes Biesters who married Elisabeth Moring these were the parents of your Jacob Biesters married to Adriana Sepers

Added father for Hendrik Cornelis Los (Marinus Los as well now)
Ik heb het voorgeslacht van Mabel op Wikipedia geplaatst: https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mabel_Wisse_Smit#Voorgeslacht

I have added the ancestry of Mabel to Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Princess_Mabel_of_Orange-Nassau#Ancestry
@Bea
Thanks for the info. I have not really started the descendants of Hendrik Ton yet as I'm still working through a number of other branches. Hendrik ' descendants will also likely include the most challenging research as some spread into parts of Zeeland where many records have not survived and also were among the earliest descendants of Jan Gerrits to emigrate to the U.S. which means digging through entirely different sources. Luckily I have some good leads on the early American branch of the family from a non-wikitree researcher.
Bedankt Peter :) Van de Nederlandse Wikipedia heeft iemand het weer verwijdert helaas zo te zien, but on the English version we can find it ;)

Aah just noticed you have been busy and connected Marinus Los to his ancestors as well , great ! Will look for some sources for them , or do you have them already as well ?

@Rob

In the April 4, 1942 edition of "De residentiebode" there is an item "Burgerlijke stand" listing the updates to the civil registers on April 2, 1942.

Under the heading Voorburg, Ondertrouwd: there is the notice of marriage of M. Los and R.H. van der Helden.

Awesome Jan!

I had some free time today ... Including both the profiles I already had completed and the ones I created today, here is a list of sourced profiles of ancestors for Mabel Wisse Smit that I have worked on:

That's a very impressive list Rob!
Great work Rob! :D Way to go! :)

Thank you so much.

Added some more 4G-Grandparents.

I also took a moment to look at the compact family tree and admire the amount of progress we have collectively made on this ancestry.

:D Just great what we can accomplish at such short term right?  Yeh!!!

Thank you Rob for your great addition too!

Proud!

Could someone review the profile for Ariaantje Berents - AKA Adriaantje van Klodewijk - (a 5G-Grandparent) and make sure I have followed the Dutch Roots guidelines correctly and that my inferences, associations, and conclusions seem reasonable?

All the best!

Super finding Jan , Have been looking everywhere for the marriage record or something like this even tried Delpher...so really happy you found it ..still our master sourcerer eeh :)

Thanks for all the help and hard work everyone ! Holiday here so not as much time for Wikitree as I normally have, but it's wonderful and amazing to watch how many you all accomplished here ..so here's A HUGE THANK YOU !!

And for me you all are ....

@ Peter if you add here what profiles you added and all these sources , it's a challenge so you can win a badge .

@ all participants, if you like it you can add the {{ Dutch Roots Challenge}} template to your own Bio ...it looks like this Dutch Roots Challenge Template

@ Rob, Ariaantje Klodewijk really looks fine to me ! Thanks for the great help !

"Bedankt Peter :) Van de Nederlandse Wikipedia heeft iemand het weer verwijdert helaas zo te zien, but on the English version we can find it ;)"

The familytree of Mable is also available in French (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mabel_Wisse_Smit#Ascendance) and Spanish (https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mabel_de_Orange-Nassau#Ancestros)

"@ Peter if you add here what profiles you added and all these sources , it's a challenge so you can win a badge ."

I am not adding profiles and sources to win a badge Bea :-) The challenge it self is enough.

Well it's really appreciated Peter , with or without a badge or template, having fun and working together on this is also a very important part and goal of I guess all Wikitree challenges, it's a great way to get to know your fellow members a bit better ;)

@Rob

Ariaantje Klodewijk:  Yes, seems reasonable, sound research and analysis! I could not find her marriage either...

Thanks to your work Peter, I added a lot of family at the - van Woerkom -family. I hope that is okay with you :p Just a liitle stuck now on Th parents of Willem van Woerkom http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Van_Woerkom-26 His father is unknown and his mother Willemina van Woerkom born in Eethen (Noord-Brabant) in 1885 according to this https://www.genealogieonline.nl/stamboom-dullemen/I18041.php Checked even the churchbooks at Waalwijk. No luck so far. Or I must have missed something.

I also see a mother named Neeltje Pelt with a Johannes van Woerkom.... lets see if she is already at WikiTree.

Hi Astrid, with the info from Stamboom Dullemen ("She died on July 23, 1856 in Dordrecht, she was 71 years old.") I have found these sources of her death and marriage:

However, I am not 100% certain this is Willem's mother.

The birthcertificate of Willem should be in the Nationaal Archief (Den Haag, Burgerlijke Stand Dordrecht Geboorten, nummer toegang 3.049.01, inventarisnummer 1812). There are no scans available.

Thank you Peter, thank you Rob.

@Peter: Yes I added that link of a possible marriage to the profile of Willemina I think. Not at the computer now but will check it out later. But it is the best we can get so far I think.

@Rob: Thank you Rob for taking time. And thank you for confirming I didn t miss any info at the document.
I think it is reasonable to say Willemina the daughter Joannes van Woerkom and Neeltje Sels (I think Sels is a more faithful transcription than Pelt) is a strong candidate as Willem's mother - She definitely has ties to Dordrecht with one sister, Maria, married there in 1813 and another sister, Pieternella, dying there in 1820.

I agree with Rob: Neeltje Sels, not Pelt.

Also found extract of Willemina's baptism (attachment to her marriage certificate):

"Netherlands, Zuid-Holland Province, Civil Registration, 1679-1942," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1-17533-59679-26?cc=1576401 : accessed 30 April 2016), Oud-Alblas > Huwelijksbijlagen 1812-1833 > image 98 of 678; Nationaal Archief, Den Haag (National Archives, The Hague).

And the actual registration of the baptism:

"Netherlands, Noord-Brabant, Church Records, 1473-1965," images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1942-31043-3147-94?cc=2037960 : accessed 30 April 2016), Nederlands Hervormde > Eethen > Dopen 1726-1810 > image 18 of 32; Nederlands Rijksarchiefdienst, Den Haag (Netherlands National Archives, The Hague).

Willem van Woerkom birth certificate:

"Netherlands, Zuid-Holland Province, Civil Registration, 1679-1942," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-267-12351-22664-50?cc=1576401 : accessed 30 April 2016), Dordrecht > Geboorten 1812-1813 > image 77 of 220; Nationaal Archief, Den Haag (National Archives, The Hague).

Thank you both!!! Jan and on the Sels/Pelt thing. I see more evidence to Sels than to Pelt. Was just keeping the possibility open........ I already added the possible marriage to  Willemina's profile. And I see now Peter added :) more possible marriages. :D Just great!

I tried to find Willemina's birthcertificate but no success so far......... :/

@Jan I already had the birth certificate of Willem. But thank you lots!  Rob and Bea read it to see if there was more info of Willemina in it as my French is below zero. No luck. But thank you for adding it here!

I believe this will be my last additions prior to the end time of 1200 GMT: All are 5G-Grandparents

The profile for Maria Gerritsen probably needs a fresh set of eyes to go through the records looking for clues...

All the best everyone... and great job!

Inmiddels is Kooman-11 Open.

Wish I just could read this word after Eerste -something- of the burgomaster/Mayor of Ter Aar. First what??? :D http://prntscr.com/ayhpmf  (original: https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:9Q97-YS7W-K2Q?mode=g&i=9&wc=9PNR-S5Z%3A115501401%2C115758101%3Fcc%3D1576401&cc=1576401 Just beneath the middle of the left page).

Next coming lol having trouble on reading French birthcertificate of Willem van Woerkom..............Well not so much just not sure I m missing details.

Netherlands, Zuid-Holland...l Registration, 1679-1942 Dordrecht Geboorten 1812-1813 Image 77 of 220 document 282 right page [https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HY-6LLR-7X?mode=g&i=76&wc=9PGF-82S%3A108149601%2C108143602%3Fcc%3D1576401&cc=1576401]. I can read most.

I'm just curious if there is any info on the birthplace and year of Willemina there or of parents. (I don t expect. Just asking.......... )

I have another puzzle on the eldest "Prillevitz" too, I might need some help on, but will look into that more before sharing :P Looks there are some with same name at the same time.......... not sure yet.

1. Assessor?

2. Willemina is given as 24 years old (âgée de vingt quatre ans) for a calculated birth year of about 1788. I don't see a place of birth mentioned, just what appears to be her residence.

I think Rob might be right ..just reading some stuff and here they mention :

De burgemeester en assessor (= ‘wethouder’)

@Bea Yes I read somewhere burgemeester en zijn eerste assistent/first assistant. So I tried to see that in the word but I can t :) But now you all think the same we keep it to that. Father of Willem s wife was first assitant of the Burgomaster of Ter Aar. :D

Willemina was baptized in Eethen (1785):

"Netherlands, Noord-Brabant, Church Records, 1473-1965," images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1942-31043-3147-94?cc=2037960 : accessed 30 April 2016), Nederlands Hervormde > Eethen > Dopen 1726-1810 > image 18 of 32; Nederlands Rijksarchiefdienst, Den Haag (Netherlands National Archives, The Hague).

See my answer above (this thread is getting overloaded with info...)

OMG Jan!!!!!! I ve been searching for that a long time last nigth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know you will not like it but I AM gonna kiss you for that!  0:-)

How you got to the churchbooks of Eethen.................. Grrrr

Eethen Noord-Brabant???????????????/

In addition to the FamilySearch images Jan linked to you can also find digitized copies - and a search engine at www.salha.nl

Oh Rob.............. what is that.............. looking into that right now............... Looks great. Give me time to check it out more as I m into Willemina's profile and the leads given here and on the profile by Peter and link(s) of Jan. :D Thank you all sooooooooo much! Luv you all! for looking into and helping.

Besides we have a Willemina van Woerkom daughter of a Joannes or Johannes/Johannis van Woerkom and Neeltje Sels We all like to think Willemina got on the right trail and ;-) married in 1814, after giving birth to Willem without father in 1812, married in 1814 to Jacob van Muijen. I tend to believe.

@ Jan and Rob that site looks great didn t know it........ Thank you for sharing! I searced an no access to Eethen so searched places around! Thank you thank you! Curtsy!
@Astrid

Eethen? World famous in Eethen, Genderen, and Heesbeen :-).

Found the name in extract of baptism (huwelijksbijlage). Then searched thru "Overzicht plaatsnamen" (homepage zoekakten.nl) and found films.
@ Jan haha Right! The cosmopolitan Eethen. I searched the baptism books all around Eethen lol Thank you for finding!
